From the book :"In the shadow of Macedonia"
Visiting Belgrade on September 1971 the Greek minister for foreign affairs (my note, there was military junta in Greece these days) Ksanthopoulos-Palamas answered to his Ju colleague who asked for the recognition of a Macedonian nation : " Athens is applying the international law and want to have relations with Yu as a state , not with its individual republikas. If in the future a consisting part of Yu acquires independance then we 'll deal with it. As for the Macedonian minority in Greece, it does not exist. In Northern Greece exist onle few slavic speakers. After the 1st world war the people who didnt feel Greeks left for Bulgaria. During the Greek civil war all those who didnt feel Greeks were expelled.
