Even Wikipedia doesn't didn't go for price of bread angle. In fact, they rate "food price inflation" all the way down the bottom after police brutality, state of emergency laws, electoral fraud, political censorship, corruption and unemployment.
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations...This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution. John Adams

Whether bread comes before tomatoes and onions is unclear, but I'm sure they had something to do with it as well.
P.S. Castro was fond of his cigars, I have no doubt that is the reason he formed a rebel army and went on a virtual suicide mission...
Che Guevara and Castro were very honourable revolutionaries. They fought against a corrupt Cuban government and sought to free the people from the American puppets that were leading the country. The goal may have seemed unrealistic, but they prevailed and brought the demise of the Batista regime. Don't you think a revolution or resistance is required in Macedonia, or is that a 'suicide mission' that will only upset Gruevski sympathisers?
People like Guevara are some of the most respected people in history, unless of course you fall victim to the American propaganda. He was not even Cuban, and went on a mission to free the peasants from abusive 'government' tyrants.
I recommend people to watch this two part movie/documentary on Che's journey in Cuba and Bolivia. I've also been meaning to watch the Motorcycle Diaries. Che Guevara Trailer- HD - YouTube
It truly depicts what it means to fight for ones rights and be involved in a struggle for humanity and justice.
On-topic: Does anyone have a link to Gruevski's UN speech with English subtitles? I have only managed to find short extracts in news articles thus far.
EDIT: I found Vangelovski's document link, but anyone have a video?
You post an non working link and a link to Wikipedia and say, they did not mention it! as your 'proof'!
The link works in the original. I knew you missed it.

EM, I was being sarcastic about the cigars But the Cuban revolution was a virtual suicide mission. You seem like you have read up on it...surely you know that the "landing party" consisted of a handful of people that nearly died in the first few days. They could have done things differently, but I guess their plan worked in the end.

Yeh, they were a bit of a crazy bunch, the kind that would finish their cigar before going into battle. From what I remember, Che suffered from spouts of asthma attacks, and being a medical student, you'd think he'd know better.
It started off as a small landing party, but the main aim was to convince and recruit the peasants to join the cause. That's why I speak of short-term goals, as these revolutionaries reclaimed key strategic positions one at a time, and further heightened their cause. Not sure how credible this stat is, but I remember something along the lines of '99% of the land was owned by 1% of the population' under the Batista regime.
Amazing stuff how they pulled it off...surely the Macedonians are capable of regaining control over their own nation in the 21st century through other means?

I think Macedonians, like any other people, can take control of their country. They just need to want to do it, and wanting to do comes from a personal moral revolution.
Although I completely disagree with Che's socialist worldview, I do admire his passion and his willingness to take action based on his principles. Though, I have read that he was known to steal cigars from his comrades. I'm not sure whether this is true or not, but I also share his like of fine Cuban cigars...though only on occassion
