Poor Nimetz given more "history" books by Greek Govt
Unable to use any history books, the Greek Govt and its 'historians' are working around the clock to make up their own fictional history which are then sent to Nimetz as 'proof' for Greece's positions in the name dispute.

Most of the books given to Nimetz, ironically were published by Athens propaganda machine in the last 16 months. In fact, during each visit Nimetz is given a 'history' book by Greek Government official that was published few months before his arrival. Someone is hard at work, and we salute you.

Ironically, Greece isn't able to use even their own history books dating back two or more decades because in them Macedonia is clearly marked with its constitutional name.

The latest book given to Nimetz was titled "European cartography and politics - the case with Macedonia" published several months ago.
Greece's Minister of Foreign Affairs slipped the book into Nimetz's hands explaining it was a pure coincidence the Greek FM had it on him while meeting Nimetz.

    - Mr. Nimetz received a copy of a great book and I am sure upon his return to the US he will use it to enrich his knowledge about the dispute - stated Avramopoulos.

This isn't the first time Greece is trying to influence US politicians with 'freshly cooked' books.
In the early 2000's the Greek Government made a similar attempt with US Universities, comical history books were published and 'donated' to US schools, however the top US schools were able to see what official Athens intent was and said no to the 'donations', numerous US schools however accepted the free books.
    1) Macedonians belong to the "older" Mediterranean substratum...
    2) Macedonians are not related with geographically close Greeks, who do not belong to the "older" Mediterranenan substratum...

The US has an economic interest in propping up old state elites based in the old British system, the Anglo-greekoid oligarchy etc. We have to think outside the typical "box". Go crazy wild on the grease to break apart and destroy neo-colonial superstructures. Now is the time to act when they have no credibility have become a burden and cant operate properly in the world.

If it was any more ridiculous it would be slapstick comedy.Since when can countries like greece rewrite history only if they are allowed.Greece has been faking history since time immemorial. They pretend to be something they are not.Greece called their share of the division of macedonia as the occupied territories. Then as recent as the andronikos finds. They proclaim the northern greece as the province of macedonia. Now they are hastily rewriting books to suit themselves.BUt the forgot one thing they don't exist as macedonians we do.

          Sramota "upper republic of Macedonia"

New proposal reportedly tabled in Macedonia name dispute

          Source: Beta, NOVA
SKOPJE -- A mediator in the Macedonia name dispute, that has been ongoing for 20 years now, has reportedly suggested "the Upper Republic of Macedonia" as a solution.

The former federal Yugoslav republic of Macedonia's constitutional name, "the Republic of Macedonia", is unacceptable to its neighbor to the south Greece, whose northern province is also called Macedonia.

According to the NOVA website, the latest suggestion should be used on a temporary bases, instead of another temporary solution, "the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM)" - under which the country was admitted to the UN.

The website is citing unnamed diplomatic sources involved in the negotiations to report that the proposal came during the final round of negotiations in New York last week. It was tabled by veteran U.S. diplomat and UN mediator Matthew Nimetz.

This new name would be the name used during the negotiations on Macedonia's accession to the EU, which would take at least seven to eight years, the report said.

After that, a referendum would be held in which the citizens of Macedonia would vote on two issues: "on joining the EU, and on the name the Upper Republic of Macedonia."

However, there have been disagreements about the latest proposal as well. The suggestion, reportedly insisted on by Skopje, would be acceptable to Greece "if the geographical determinant were to be placed before the word 'Macedonia', and not in front of the word 'Republic'."

Greece has reportedly given its consent to Macedonia, with the addition of the word "upper", to join NATO and start negotiations for EU accession.

In return, Macedonia would enter an amendment into its Constitutionthat read: "From the day the Republic of Macedonia joins the EU, the international name of the country will be the Upper Republic of Macedonia and will be used in all languages - except in official languages of the country."

According to the website, this amendment would also be approved or rejected in a referendum.

The two sides are reportedly expected to state their position on the proposal in the coming days, and reach an agreement by mid-May.

The article further said that EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule "supported Nimetz as he was determining the proposal", along with consultations with the two sides, the United States and other international factors.

another ploy to get a monopoly on the macedonia name. It;s stramota yo see some people are promoting this as a solution when it;s not.Remember the ventilator was a solution giving the greeks a monopoly on yhe sun symbol.Think anout it how can a name of a country republic of macedonia conflict with a name of a province. It doesn't,
THe real solution is for greece to accept macedonias real name & stop pussyfooting for once,Also trying to force macedonia to capitulate in order to be accepted in the eu or nato.Think about it it's a pitfall don't fall for it.

I knew this was brewing. Last week I told my wife that in the next month or so there will be a push for a name change, and behold a "solution" has arisen.

They can't seriously be considering this can they?

You blokes are too bloody negative, we're making 'progress', one word at a time.
In another 20 years, once "upper" falls off the table the 'problem' will be solved.

Seriously, "upper" WTF is that dildo thinking?

What does Matt the Dildo care. He's made a career out of dumbarse Macedonian politicians and probably directly recieved allowances and other payments from our taxes which countries like Australia, Canada and the US contribute to the UN.

I personally think 'the central balkan republic' is a better option. Its the best option because it wont offend any of our neighbors.

Nimettz, the UN, NATO, the USA and everyone else have no right to tell us what our name is or blackmail us with 'tempting offer' to change our name. What a fucking farce our politicians are playing along as well.

Gruevski should be hung in public, so future politician will understand what happens to traitors

What the hell does Upper mean in the context to the Republic of Macedonian as a country? The Macedonians should show some backbone like to Serbs do re UN brokered deals.

This might be just ongoing banter but the minute gruevski puts this to a referendum, he should lose his job over it. That would send a clear message to the UN, EU and USA etc that the public won't stand for this.

Any other leader puts it to a referendum should suffer the same fate, until we find someone with some backbone.

I still don't get it. We've been going through the same shit proposals for the past 20 years, it's either Northern Macedonia, New Macedonia or Upper Macedonia. So basically he has proposed the same idea again........and again? It's clear the Greeks won't allow Republic of Macedonia and we will not add any geographical reference in front of our name - what else is there to talk about at the negotiating table? As phoenix said Nimetz is just milking it for as long as he can till he retires.
