This whole operation sounds like a government beat up. It's almost getting boring
You want Macedonia? Come and take it from my blood!

A prosperous, independent and free Macedonia for Macedonians will be the ultimate revenge to our enemies.

      Amphipolis

We’re not sure what it was.
This is about the only accurate point in this whole thread, from you and your media and archaeologists!
On Delchev's sarcophagus you can read the following inscription: "We swear the future generations to bury these sacred bones in the capital of Independent Macedonia. August 1923 Illinden"

The first pictures of the epistyles are released. Very interesting, though hard to see, will they become even clearer in the future?

        (Google translation)

As maintenance work is progressing in the seven sections of marble "architraves" -anikoun the third and most sophisticated area of the burial monument in Kasta- hill revealed gradually performances. Specifies that the position of the marble States which are part entablature, bearing painted decoration. Were placed over the studs of the walls and beneath the marble beams of the roof, which, as announced, have also painted decoration, namely imitation panels with attached rosettes.

In one of the parts of "architraves", during the first phase of the maintenance work, which is still in progress, divided in the center animal, probably a bull and sides two forms, go, female and male (photo 1,2,3 , 4). In many parts of the show, such as the garment and the head of the female figure, the garment of male and impeller type and the tripod are visible traces of colors red, blue and ocher.

The upper part of the architrave is decorated Ionic molding

Just thinking out loud, but maybe it is a male goat.Makes more sense than bull, because the male goat has been associated with Macedonia in history many times.

The Greeks will make it a bull anyway.........fits in well with all their interpretations, the other part of the equation they missed is the s#@t!

              What's currently happening in Platamon?

Have they got a date on the burial ground yet?

              Is it worth while..?

After the media response with Amphipolis. I noticed half of the new's reports were not informative at all as they were just repeats of other reports worded differently.

The media and the reporters really tried to milk it hard.

Amphi - I was reading the opinion of a guy who was present. He said he’s mostly disappointed on the way it was covered by newspapers. According to him it lasted more than 5 hours, the alleged dramatic moments and angry reactions were not so dramatic and angry. This guy supported Peristeri who was calm beyond expectations and he said most of the question had already been covered by the main presentations. Many people acted a little like you. Why is the dead like this? Why this? Why that? Well, Persiteri gave a simple and disarming answer. “Well, this is the dead that we found”. LOL, I mean, what can you do? It’s not Alexander, he’s looted (no surprises here), we don’t know if he wore a crown, we don’t know if we’ll find his name.

I don't blame the guy I was disappointed too, the media gave the tomb such a big hype.

Remember, pesteris was very very confident in the beginning. She had said it looked unlooted.

There seems to have been more than three news reports for every single little discovery.

How many reporters made an income redistributing information from other reports.

The date (for Platamon discoveries) is from various times between 2000- 1000 BC (Middle and Late Bronze Age). It is about 19 box-shaped graves.

                  About 20 impressive pictures here:

She was not confident at all. There was some logic in her hopes, but we all knew the statistics. This thing was like a film with a promising beginning, a great climaxing middle and everybody was expecting an ending with the brightest touch plus the solution of the mystery. So, looting is not the main source of disappointment.

This may be the best one we have seen.

The skeleton is at last assigned to a certain research group. After rumors that it is a woman around 54 with some broken bones (thus possibly Olympias), the Ministry made the following announcement.

                        (Google translation)

Because, yesterday and today, moving online unsubstantiated "information" and speculation on the osteological material found in the tomb of Amphipolis, the following is disclosed:

The study of skeletal material, found in the fourth place of the burial monument on the hill castes, commissioned a multidisciplinary team, composed of scientists from the Universities Aristotle and Democritus. The research program aims at modern approach to archeology of death. Starting with the person represented by the skeletal remains of the tomb castes will investigate -with systematic and scientifically ethical manner; the anthropological, social and historical context of the population of Amphipolis.

The analysis of this material is part of a broader research program, which includes the holistic approach of a sample of about three hundred skeletons, coming from the area of Amphipolis and chronologically cover the period from 1000 BC to 200 BC

The results-such as sex, age, stature-the macroscopic study of skeletal material from the fourth place of burial complex, will be announced in January.

In its research program, which is biennial, the necessary modern analytical methods will be applied. The results of investigations of the total material will be completed in a period of twenty months.

Yes, this is a valid question. As far as I understand this hypothesis is already rejected based on the position of the skeleton, most of which is properly placed deep in the grave.

It is official that the first major announcement on the skeleton will take place before January 20.

There are already some leaks but I won’t make the mistake to disseminate them.
