    Scaremongering for small-minded slaves.

Some Macedonians seem to actually believe that if we are not a EU member, the EU will close our borders and stop trading with us...that Macedonians will literally be forced into starvation!? Some actually seem to believe that the EU is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end of the world. It must be nice and comfortable inside this little box that Brussels and our vassal politicians have built for them over the past 20 years...

Rather, I think that staying outside of the EU (and away from socialist-style subsidisation) will provide the Macedonians a much better opportunity to develop a highly productive and highly competitive economy. How successful has the European project really been? How beneficial has the EU really been for the Club Med states? Have they really reformed? Are they really economically sustainable with EU membership? Or is it a matter of time before the Germans get over their war guilt and stop the European line of credit? And once that happens, where will the "social-democratic" utopia of Club Med end up?

EU socialist-style subsidisation and artificial bolstering of a fragile economy will not teach our people anything. It will never promote a strong work ethnic or competitiveness.

Some food for thought from our Creator who is much greater than the EU:

We work wearily with our own hands to earn our living – 1 Corinthians 4:12

“Those unwilling to work will not get to eat.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:10

We command such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their own living. – 2 Thessalonians 3:12

For anyone who thinks the “suffering” they may be enduring is too much, have a think about the Apostle Paul and maybe you can put it into perspective:

I have worked harder, been put in prison more often, been whipped times without number, and faced death again and again. Five different times the Jewish leaders gave me thirty-nine lashes. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea. I have travelled on many long journeys. I have faced danger from rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the seas. And I have faced danger from men who claim to be believers but are not. I have worked hard and long, enduring many sleepless nights. I have been hungry and thirsty and have often gone without food. I have shivered in the cold, without enough clothing to keep me warm. – 2 Corinthians 11:23-27

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations...This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution. John Adams

The lure of the EU is entirely with the politicians.
They will personally gain from the transformation.

I am sure they know all too well how constraining the EU will be but turn a blind eye to opportunities of circumventing EU laws, conditions etc. by remaining outside of them.

This is coming from a Slovenian who's lived in the same country before and now he is talkng to us like we come from Somalia or Afghanistan. There is no EU and Nato without dignity and if they cant respect our name and identity then we got no other choice in the end its as simple as that. The last thing we need is taking out loans to help out Greece, this is what the Slovenians did. If we are going to join these organizations we will do so on our terms.

Risto, Word has it that Jorgo's phone has been cut off because they didnt pay the bill, it must be really tough over in Greece now.

LMAO Prolet, I saw that in the media, the telecommunications industry disconnected in error for non payment (surprise ? Greece not making payments) , and it took 3 days to be rectified. Apparently, or so they say, they transposed a digit in error.

            Vangelovski, you articulate everything beautifully

Zoran Thaler Warns Macedonia on Name Row

Without a solution to the name dispute with Greece, the situation is potentially dismal for Macedonia at the forthcoming June summit of EU leaders, Zoran Thaler, Slovenian member of the European Parliament and Special Rapporteur for Macedonia, told press in Skopje.

Thaler warned that the time for a name settlement is running out and that without the solution in hand Skopje has only a slim chance of getting the desired start date for its EU accession talks at the meeting of EU leaders. The move is currently being blocked by Greece.

"If there is progress, Macedonia's negotiations will be launched, including concrete tasks for the country, which would be good. On the contrary, and unfortunately this is currently the more realistic option, Macedonia could gradually be taken off the agenda. This means you will no longer be in the focus of the EC's attention," Thaler said on Thursday.

Thaler urged Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski to step up and “solve the rubicon without fear of how this will affect his personal ratings, the popularity of his party or that of the government.

The MEP warned that there is a growing feeling in Brussels that Skopje is not entirely sincere when it says it wants to join the EU. He says that Brussels is becoming suspicious of the true intentions of the government led by Gruevski.

Thaler suggested a possible scenario to resolve the name problem, but stressed that it was only his personal idea.

He argued that a professional high profile negotiator could be hired to mediate between Athens and Skopje and resolve the issue in a period of 45 to 60 days. In order to succeed he should have the full endorsement of the UN head Ban Ki-moon and key political figures from the EU and US.

“Then I would like to see who would dare to sabotage his mandate," said Thaler.

Thaler also noted that the country should double its effort to reform its legislation to match European standards. Unlike last year’s reforms progress, which was awarded with a recommendation from the European Commission to open the EU accession talks with Skopje, Thaler noted a setback in the pace of reforms this year.

Despite the positive EC report last autumn, Skopje was blocked by Athens from getting the desired start date. Athens argues that its smaller neighbour should not be allowed to join NATO and the EU before changing its official name, Republic of Macedonia.

Greece says that Macedonia's name implies territorial claim's against its own northern province, which is also called Macedonia. The ongoing UN led negotiations, which have been held on and off for years, have so far been unsuccessful.

how much money do u get and from whom for changing the slovenian position on the name issue...slovenia was once the strongest supportert an friend of macedonia but with ur change of position u show ur anti macedonian face !
              1) Macedonians belong to the "older" Mediterranean substratum...
              2) Macedonians are not related with geographically close Greeks, who do not belong to the "older" Mediterranenan substratum...

hmmmm i liked the Slovenians prior yugoslavia breaking up.

Now they are EU and german ass kissers, always trying to act like they are upper class and better then the other balkan and eastern european people. They dont even consider themselves as balkan anymore LOL.

Very poor from the Slovenians, thought they were true friends of the macedonians but alas. Looks the only true friends of the macedonians are the Turks and Croats......
