BRUSSELS CALLS FOR RESTRAINT AFTER DEVELOPMENTS NEAR A1TV PREMISES

Brussels, 26 November 2010 (MIA) - The European Commission is calling on all political parties in Macedonia to restrain and do not abuse yesterday's developments in the vicinity of A1TV premises, MIA's correspondent reported from Brussels.

"We are calling on all political parties to restrain from abusing this incident for their own political agenda," said Angela Filote, spokeswoman for the EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule.

The Office of EC Delegation in Skopje was in touch with Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska, asking explanation for the police activity near the TV network premises.

What the f... do they want? what a joke the EC getting involved. Do they have some sort of interest in A1?

YouTube - Како од А1 лепеа листови на запечатени канцеларии

I agree Bill. It is extremely odd to hear that kind of message coming from Brussels. Next we will hear the cry about freedom of press in Macedonia being severely tarnished. .... wait and see.

A1, Macedonia: Freedom of media is condition for EU accession
              27 November 2010 | 16:00 | FOCUS News Agency

Skopje. The freedom of the media is a condition for accession in the European Union, Slovenian MEP Jelko Kacin said, as cited by Macedonian A1 TV.
What happened in Skopje is a manifestation of the firm hand of the ruling party, which wants to silence down and hamper the media from working in democratic environment, Kacin remarked.
In his words, Macedonia may lose European Commissions support for launching the pre-accession talks.

And how is Ramkovski and this Jelko Kacin associated?

An international civil society event in the Macedonian Parliament

Forum Skopje "A Soul for Europe"

From 4 to 6 April 2008 representatives from civil society, culture, business and policy-making came together in the Crystal Hall of the Macedonian Parliament.

The speakers included Members of the European and the Macedonian Parliament, among them Doris Pack, Jelko Kacin, Flora Kadriu and Vasko Shutarov; representatives of the European Commission, the President of the Macedonian Parliament Ljubisa Georgievski, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Elisabeta Kancevska Milevska, the Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, Erhard Busek, and its Director, Marijana Grandits, as well as numerous representatives from civil society from all over Europe.

              Conclusions

◦In Macedonia there needs to be a lasting and far more constructive dialogue between the cultural sector and government.
◦Europe needs to match its integrationist rhetoric with action to help professional people, not just officials, operate on equal terms with their counterparts in the EU and the world.
◦Regional networks should be started and financially supported so that culture can act as a bridge between the fractured political entities of the Balkans.
◦Macedonia (perhaps with the help of the EU) needs to train its officials and politicians in modern cultural policy management; to have a much more flexible idea of how cultural institutions and projects can be organised. Its governance structures are clearly inadequate.
◦Cultural organisations must not be the hostages of any political doctrine or faction and politicians must not expect them to be.
◦The necessity for open and frank debate on the local and regional level can discard many obstacles that are not only related to culture, but also to the European integration of Macedonia. Therefore debate has to be further stimulated and redeveloped. If this will become a perpetual process, it will secure progress of the whole country and the regions.

There needs to be law and order in Macedonia, among all of its citizens. Good for the police and hopefully they get the evidence required.

Slovenia appears to be less of a friend to Macedonia each day. The former seems to have forgotten its humble roots. Times are changing.

Butt out or better yet see the evidence of what was perpetrated by the employers of this TV Organisation before sending out Press release from a far without any Interest to understand the facts.

What the Macedonian Police conducted was right and long over due

Comment the developments is Greece Political Assassinations amongst others. What the Macedonian Police did was prudent and vital for the coarse of democratically functioning instantiations

The Macedonian Govt should know close the TV Station, introduce court proceedings and send a few bank notes to the EU commission marked 'Money laundering by A1 TV employers'

Jelko Kacin has expressed similar sentiments about Moldova:

Mr Jelko KACIN (2nd Vice-Chair of the Committee) referred to several issues: the state of media freedom, human rights, and free elections in the Republic of Moldova. Mr KACIN expressed his concerns over the independence of Moldovan media outlets: it is about the possibility of opposition parties to get a fair share of public media attention or a suspicious reorganization of Antena C Radio Station or controversial reform of the Broadcasting Coordinating Council for the audiovisual media. He also raised concerns over violation of the freedom of assembly and suppression of pluralism democracy in Moldova. Mr KACIN also tackled the issue of the upcoming elections, by saying that the 4% threshold would allow minorities to be represented in the parliament. He concluded that there is not need for statements but concrete actions from the Moldovan side.

George Soros and the group "A Soul For Europe", which Jelko Kacin is a part of, have there hands dug into re-shaping Macedonia and the Balkans as they see fit:

A Soul for Europe bi-annual conference

The philanthropist George Soros argued that the European Union can set an example for the world in international co-operation both within its own borders and beyond. All that is needed now is for the people of Europe to be inspired by the idea of the European Union as the prototype of a global open society.'

These people are dangerous and they must be stopped. Nigel Farage called the EU and the members as dangerous people. EU needs to fall apart or Europe won't be the same Europe in the future.

This is about as good as they can explain it, i think now that Ramkovski will have alot more pressure put on him. There is no media censorship, why were the Financiski Inspektori being held for 10 hours while somebody was unloading a car full of documents and cash? One of his food companies registered to that address didnt even have a license to operate, Vice Premier Zoran Stavreski said that one of the 6 companies owes 1.5 million euros in unpaid taxes.
