    SoM,

The lawyers in Greece representing the Macedonian complainants will begin preparing court proceedings on their behalf. The hearings should begin inside Greece early in the new year, barring any unforeseen administrative 'hitches'.

For the sake of clarity, the action in the news report posted by Prolet, involves a public campaign among democratically minded Macedonians and Greeks in Greece to put pressure on the Greek government to rescind the discriminatory against Macedonians, 1982 laws.

It is quite separate from the legal action that has been initiated by the AMHRC, MHRMI and the Detsa begaltsi steering committee in Skopje - though it is never-the-less a positive initiative.

If others are now intending to launch a separate legal action, that is their business; though they should start their own separate thread about it on this forum in order to avoid confusion.

Lastly, we would like to assure everyone that lawyers who know their job, were contracted in Greece to manage this action, months ago.

      Regards,

      AMHRC.
      Thanks for the clarification.

All of these are as you say positive initiatives and should be supported across the board by all Macedonian activists working to further our cause.

Although this is not the thread, nor the place to raise the question, but I find it very strange that a legal initiative is being duplicated. Perhaps Vodenka can start her own thread about it so we can disucss it.

        Pelister,

We received clarification from Vodenka on another forum that she will not in fact be organising an alternative action.

            Prolet,

There is only one legal action/initiative taking place. It has been organised by the AMHRC, MHRMI and a steering committee in Skopje, composed of representatives from the various Detsa Begaltsi organisations in Macedonia. It is all one action.

Translation with google translator from greek into english:
                QUOTE
Invasion of Skopje in Pella to make certificates!
The issue of birth certificates was requested by the administrative departments of the municipality Pozar in Pella, more than 40 Skopjans that Monday morning crossed the border from the border of Victory and found in the region.

The move is part of Skopje concerted effort is underway in recent months by the nationalist government of Nikola Gruevski to prove in international fora that exist in Northern Greece Macedonians who do not feel greerk that the Greek authorities during the period of destructive civil war, held ... "genocide" against them.

According to the newspaper VREME, descendants of Macedonians who fled to western Macedonia before 1949, brought Greece to the human rights court in Strasbourg, but received a negative response because they fail to prove their claim and those that originate mainly from Greece.

The officials of the municipality Pozar, who were surprised by the "invasion" of Skopje, Skopje informed that the joint request for certificates will follow the legal route.

The Skopjan friendly party "Rainbow" urges Skopje to club members who say that originate from Greek regions to come themselves in northern Greece and to request documents from the principles by which they can prove their allegations.

In 2008 a letter to the then Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis, Nikola Gruevski, was officially put refund request Skopje, claiming that originate from regions of Macedonia and their property, and asked to identify the alleged "Macedonians minority" in our country.

At the same time the provocation of Skopje and culminates in Greek territory, five members of SYRIZA question submitted to the Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs, calling for direct return to northern Greece, those who fled the country during the period of civil war and now say "Makentonets" taking full Skopje propaganda, which refers to minority ... 500,000 Macedonians in Greece and "Greater Macedonia" by Olympus.

I have in my own dealings with Google translate experienced some of its shortcomings so no disrespect to Vodenka but some of this article is hard to understand

I noticed your note that the Rainbow party had nothing to do with the initiative.

I may have lost something or all meaning in the translation.

It sounds like the individuals took it upon themselves to front up to the offices in Greece to request new birth certificates and that the Rainbow party was not part of this.

It also sounds like the Rainbow party urges Skopje to club could possibly mean the party is urging the RoM government to prevent individuals taking it upon themselves to just front up en masse and maybe follow some legal procedure of what that may be is unclear.

I hope I am sort of understanding this correctly.

Sorry for the bad translation with google tool but I will try later to make a better translation of the greek article (and avoid the world "skopiani" etc in the tranlsation!).
Now as about the meaning of their sentences you mention, in greek is "the Vinozhito party urges Egejci Begalci associations to come to Greece by themselves and ask for their documents to prove their claims".
My note was about this:it says it "urges them", but it does not help them in any way, to take initiatives! Other people helped them to achieve their purpose, in Greece.

You may be right about that Vodenka. Stop being so anal! The Greeks want to spread fear and stop locals from associating with Vinozhito. It's all propaganda. Enough with yours.

Ozimak, the article reads fine. It shows just how stupid and racist Greeks are.
From the village of P’pezhani, Tashko Popov, Dimitar Popov-Skenderov and Todor Trpenov were beaten and sentenced to 12 years prison. Pavle Mevchev and Atanas Popov from Vrbeni and Boreshnica joined them in early 1927, they were soon after transferred to Kozhani and executed. As they were leaving Lerin they were heard to shout "With our death, Macedonia will not be lost. Our blood will run, but other Macedonians will rise from it"

They should be writting Macedonians not Skopjans, za sramota.

Vodenka, If Vinozito have nothing to do with this, then why is the article mentioning them?

There is this stereotype in Greece about all Macedonian activists to be members of the Vinozhito party. This is not right, because for the people who left their homes and jobs to go around with the Begalci to help them fill the applications and talk to the greek clerks about the procedures, it is really very anoyng to find out that the party is getting a merit which does not deserve!

Prolet, we know what they should be writing. A greek does not understand political correctness, this article highlights this.

Vodenka, as you point out, it is internal Greek propaganda. Stop your whinging! Make yourself known and they'll include you in the propaganda.

On the Kanal 5 report apparently people came from another village and a confrontation was narrowly avoided. Why would Greeks or Grkomani from another village care if the people applied for Greek Citizenship just like anybody else?
