The Existence of a Macedonian minority in Bulgaria

It still depends on how people identify themselves. They could be of Macedonian heritage , but identify themselves as Bulgarians or Serbs or whatever. To tell you the truth, every country tries to make the people its own, for instance the US. Every immigrant there calls himself American and is proud because they set his mind to it. And by the way, even if there is such a thing, why doesn't Macedonia do something ?

Imagination, you might have a point. If we look at Greeks, they had been calling themselves Romans for longer than your imagination stretches. The even had other names for themselves when they were other ethnicities. They are now Greeks, what a riot .... don't you think!

Macedonians fought to have an independent nation called Macedonia. Greeks didn't, which makes it abundantly clear who the Macedonians are.

You are not going to beleive the figures supplied by the bulgarians.When they falsify & put people under duress.Their principal claim is that all macedonians not only in bulgaria but in the whole of macedonia are bulgarian.By oppressing the people they are not going to be open about their ethnicity.We know there are more macedonians in bulgaria than stated in the censuses.Imagination I don't know if you know the history of omo illinden in pirin macedonia & the very things the bulgarians did to suppress them The last thing on their mind( the bulgarians) aren't going to give them representation.The reason being that they go along with their fake censuses
& keeping the macedonians down.So like greece the bulgarians don't let their minorities have freedom.

TM that's great what you've done bulgaria allways understates especially the census to do with macedonians.try multiplying of what they say by a 100.Estimates are at least a minimum of 800,000 injust pirin macedonia.Even at least over more than !million throughout bulgaria.

If there were 800,000 Macedonians then Macedonian parties would get in Parliament there. Still its an interesting topic, but the ethnic map depends on how people identify themselves, for instance there could be 100,000 Macedonians , but just 90,000 identify themselves as such .

BULGARIA: Usual Crisis

The Cabinet of Prime Minister Andrei Liapchev fell, last week, for the usual reason: trouble with the belligerent Macedonian Minority.

A few days later His Majesty Tsar Boris called upon M. Liapchev to form another cabinet, for the usual reason: after other statesmen have had their try at assembling a Government, they are usually willing to compromise again on Liapchev. M. Liapchev duly formed another cabinet, but it, too, fell.

Givin half of Sofia and almost all of Pirin was populated by Macedonians 100 years ago, surely it is safe to assume that many Macedonians have not been particularly true to themselves.
