![]() Yes but why should the world have top suffer from greece defaulting? Greece needs to avoid defaulting at all costs. They took a business risk by choosing a path of corruption so they must pay for it not the world they made a bad choice your arguing that everything should suffer because of a bad business decision. Let's say I for interest made a bad investment by buying a house I knew I couldn't afford but had contacts in government departments that would help me out by covering up certain debts etc now one day a person outside this circle of corruption spots that I evaded certain taxes etc he them ees it and am forced to pay it back or face being prosecuted. Should I make my whole street cup in so I can be saved for my poor decision note if answer is yes that means everyone on that street that is living an honest life must carry my debt on their shoulders simply cause I had the right to walk away

Yes, Turkish people are not like Germans or Japanese but we are much more hardworking than you. But i don't blame you, if we would live with the credit cards of German taxpayers for 20+ years and if French taxpayers money would even be used to fix erection problems of our retired army officers, then we would surely be like you. Actually if you provide that to the Japanese people, then i am sure they would be as lazy as you. So, sun&sea&mediterranean weather are not related with your laziness. |

I think Turkey is the biggest threat to Greece. Why? Greece can only depend on Tourism and nothing else.........(oh and olives). Now with Turkey stealing tourism away from Greece and numbers are growing, i think Greece are in bigger trouble than voltron thinks. And it will get even worse the more the world finds out about the fake Greek history.

If Ezel wants to discuss tourism than by all means open up a new thread. Aside from that I really dont know what else to say. |

![]() Greek tourism is already is not on the same level with Turkey for the last ~15 years. As far as i see from the stats, about 14 million tourists comes to Greece every year and even tiny Croatia gonna surpass them next year or so with 12 million tourists currently. Ofc tourist numbers and revenue will drop for Greece, cuz no one desires to go to an holiday in a place where riot took place and molotov cocktails thrown to the banks.
Olive? Spain, Italy and Turkey has same quality olive oil as Greece since it`s a mediterranean tree, not specific to Greece. All in all, Spaniards, Italians and Turks can do better in all areas than Greeks does. So, i believe that for the last 20-25 years, Greek economy has become totally dependant to the EU and their funds. After the cold war ended, Greece is no longer that much valuable for western world and they cant use it as some kind of barrier to the Turkey anymore. And after the global crisis, they just discarded them and all of a sudden, Greece is like a 5 year old kid who lost his mother in the middle of a big street now. I don't expect Greece to recover for few generations and when they recover, they wont be like the Greece of 1990-2000s. They can be more like Greece in early 1980s, b4 they became EU member.
