![]() This is what I've been talking about when it comes to media reporting in Macedonia.
Here's the latest report from the Institute for Communication Studies that follows media reporting in the period from 19.12.2015 to 29.01.2016. It supports the fact that the public service (MRTV) along with the 3 biggest national TV stations (Sitel,Kanal 5 and Alfa TV) are just government propaganda tools. Here are a couple of things I'd like to stress out: Quote:

![]() A journalist from the pro-government TV Sitel was fired on the 8th of March (!) because of a column she wrote (for another portal) that was critical towards the former minister of interior and election fraud suspect Gordana Jankulovska, published 2 days earlier.
The Union of Journalists and Media Workers stated that all relevant European journalist organizations will be informed of this and demand responsibility from Sitel's executives: http://brif.mk/?p=199787

![]() Here's a snapshot that perfectly illustrates the government propaganda spreading through media:same news is presented with exactly the same words by different media.
The party propaganda officials prepare the article that is forwarded to every media under government control. It is a basic copy-paste process that gets prompted as a headline or "breaking news" in the media in question. In this case we have all government-controlled media: Sitel,Kurir,Netpres,Puls24,Vecer,Press24 and several others that couldn't fit the snapshot: ![]()

![]() You either have SDSM media or DPMNE media, there are no independent and unbiased outlets.
Why doesn't this forum open up a news portal on a Macedonian domain and we can all write articles that criticize both sides? |

Even if people don't have any kind of internet or cable TV,they have 5 national televisions (besides MTV of course) as source of info and news,3 out of which are pro-government. One of remaining 2,the newest,is a joint Macedonian-Albanian station which isn't highly viewed by Macedonians in general and it has weakest signal, therefore least territory coverage. The other,Telma TV,doesn't have a good program (movies, entertainment, music, series etc) and has the lowest budget so is the least viewed of them. So that leaves you Sitel,Kanal 5 and Alfa (you can also include the national broadcaster MTV),all of them government sponsored stations. And so,when the average Macedonian switches on his TV,he's fully exposed to government propaganda on every major Macedonian channel.

![]() I was specifically talking about those online portals that regurgitate news from other larger sites, I don't think many people get their news from those. Someone like me in the diaspora is more likely to read those than someone in ROM. Most people in ROM I think get their news from TV. The news is usually right before the most popular Turkish soap operas, those sons of bitches are clever.
