![]() Prolet, it would be much more better and constructive for this discussion if you kept this kind of questions rather in your mailbox than on this thread.

![]() "Жители Эдирне ведут свою родословную от македонцев."
The citizens of Edirne trace their ancestry from the Macedonians. http://www.wholeearth.ru/sec9/pos2254 ![]() Turkey supports Macedonia for European Atlantic groups bid Turkish Parliament Speaker Sahin met with Macedonia's Parliament Speaker Veljanoski in Ankara. Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin met with Macedonia's Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski in Ankara on Tuesday. At their meeting, Sahin said that peoples of the two countries had historical and deep-rooted ties. He said Turkey was in favor of Macedonia's integration into European Atlantic groups, adding that such integration was very important for stability in the Balkans. Sahin also said that 4 percent of Macedonian population was of Turkish descent, however, he said only 1.6 percent of those people were employed by Macedonian public institutions. "I hope it would change positively in the future," he said. Sahin also voiced complaints of Turkish businessmen about trade regulations in this country and asked Veljanoski to take steps on the matter. Visiting parliament speaker Veljanoski, on his part, said that his country could not become a NATO member because of Greek stonewalling and thanked Turkey for its support in Macedonia's NATO bid. He said he believed Macedonia would become a member of both NATO and EU one day. Veljanoski also said Macedonian government welcomed all Turkish investments, adding Turkey achieved a great economic success during the global downturn. http://www.worldbulletin.net/news_detail.php?id=64509

Actually there is one little known fact about people in Turkey. According to latest census results, about 33 million people in Turkey has Balkanic roots. Either themselves or their parents immigrated to Turkey from Balkans and I know %80-90 of them came from Macedonia(incl. Aegean side). This 33 million includes Bosniaks, Albanians too but they are not more than %5-6. So, there is one more Balkans in Anatolia and there is a harmony here comparing to the real Balkans. For example, it`s possible to see a Macedonian bride and a Bosniak groom with an Albanian and Turkish relatives in a regular wedding ceremony here ![]() Last edited by Onur; 09-28-2010 at 08:24 PM. |

![]() Onur, It seems like Turkey is going east now
Turkey has signed treaties with Syria,Lebanon and Jordan like a mini version of the EU, there will be an economic zone and free trade will be in place. Ahmet Davitoglu is saying that Turkey is not steping away from its EU ambitions. http://www.ereporter.com.mk/mk-mk/De...px?Title=13319

![]() It is hard to find friends in the region, but Macedonia has a supporter in Turkey. I wouldn't go so far as to say 'military ally' but there you are right when you say that there are millions of Turks who can trace their living ancestry back to Macedonian territory.

![]() Onur, Abdulahim Ademi is a former UCK Terrorist who is in the Government and his role is basically to implement the Ohrid Accord, however all he cares about is Albanian Interests he is using the Ohrid Accord in the name of all the minorities in Macedonia to push for Albanian interests no different to IVZ (Islamic Governing Body in Macedonia) is being run by Albanians and taking the rest of the Muslims who are not Albanian for a ride.
He was also the one in Tetovo when he told all the journalists at a press conference that they should learn Albanian and that he shouldnt have to speak Macedonian in official press conferences could you imagine a Turkish Vice Premier in Turkey speaking in Kurdish or another language and then saying that they should learn that language yet he is representing Turkey its a disgrace. As for our relations with Turkey ofcourse they are very good, even President Ivanov said our relations are fantastic. Its just that this guy who went there Abdulahim Ademi is not exactly somebody who represents our interests, he only cares about his people and throws in the word Macedonia every noun and then. Basically whenever something is built in Macedonia, for example the 2014 Skopje project he then comes out in the news and says the Albanians should have this too, he never cares about any other minority ie Turkish,Vlach,Serbian,Bosnian etc he is just using them as leverage to achieve his goals.
