A horrific accident that took place last night around 22:30 h local time took the lives of 14 Somali and Afghan migrants on the Veles - Skopje railroad tracks.
This is not the first accident of this kind but it's the most lethal one to date.Just last week a Nigerian woman was also hit by a train and died instantly.
According to reports,a group of 50 illegal migrants were resting on the tracks when the train hit them at almost full speed (due to poor lighting at the scene the trainmaster didn't notice them until they were 150 meters away).Most of them fled after the incident but 8 (relatives of the dead) stayed and were later arrested by the authorities.
Illegal migrants use the railroad tracks in Macedonia as a landmark on their search for a better future in the EU countries.
