I wouldn't want it to come to that, but it may have to. I am tired of watching the place die by the death of a thousand cuts day by day as the Gruevski goverment and Co. change more and more laws that decentralize State control, devolve power and relinquish Macedonian government jurisdiction. Most of these provocations are based on the rights that Greeks feel they have after Macedonian politicians decided negotiations were necessary. This thread is very valuable. I would like to see people add further provocations to the thread with links, and perhaps mactruth or admins could update the first post of the thread.. giving us a complete and up to date list of provocations.
This can be referred to in emails regarding the atrocious behaviour of greek "diplomacy" in this whole issue they have with us (mainly themselves).
When I get a chance i'll look up the dates of each event and it can be turned into a timeline of events. I do not know whether the politicians fear the Albanians having a movement (and it being backed up by the West) or if they are being paid off by certain anti-Macedonian organizations (like SDSM being paid off by the Greek government)... either way our politicians have to start working of the Macedonian people and they have to make these provocations known to EU, NATO, UN and IJC.
They should also use these in the Court's case in which Greece is breaking "good neighborly relations" since Greece constantly states Macedonia does it by being proud of their history.Comment

Macedonia needs NATO, but NATO also needs Macedonia
Washington, 1 February 2011 (MIA) - The desire for NATO membership has been uniting Macedonia's society, which is demonstrated by the fact that it enjoys the support of over 90 percent of its citizens, President Gjorge Ivanov said Tuesday in Washington, speaking to the Atlantic Council representatives on the topic 'Why Macedonia needs NATO Membership and Why NATO needs Macedonia'.
Macedonia-NATO relations are tight because they are based on mutual trust and over 10-year close contacts, Ivanov said, expressing hope that they will be crowned with meritorious accession of Macedonia to NATO.
Elaborating why NATO needs Macedonia, Ivanov said that there could be no stable Europe without stable South-East Europe (SEE).
"The lessons from the past shown that there could be no stable SEE without stable Macedonia, whose long-term stability depends on its membership in the club of democratic, prosperous Euro-Atlantic nations," Ivanov said.
He considers that Macedonia's accession to NATO will eliminate the existing security vacuum, bringing the Alliance closer to turning its goals into reality - Europe whole and free, Europe that shares same values.
At the moment Macedonia is sharing same responsibilities with NATO countries, but it is not enjoying the same rights and privileges that derive from NATO membership only because of one irrational dispute, Ivanov said.
"We strongly believe that dialogue, trust and better understanding will result in reaching mutually acceptable solution. We are ready but we need your help,"Ivanov said.
He reaffirmed Macedonia's commitment to NATO membership, in spite of its disappointment for not joining the club after meeting of all necessary standards.
NATO membership remains high on Macedonia's agenda and it cannot be overshadowed by the attitude of one NATO country, the President said.
The Atlantic Council is a Washington think tank and public policy group whose mission is to promote constructive US leadership and engagement in international affairs based on the central role of the Atlantic community in meeting the international challenges of the 21st century.
President Ivanov is paying three-day visit to Washington to attend the 59. traditional National Prayer Breakfast of the US Congress on Thursday.
The National Prayer Breakfast, annually held on the first Thursday of February, brings together about 3,000 guests, including US President Barack Obama, world leaders, politicians and businessmen.
President Ivanov will use the event to lobby with the US administration for support of settling Skopje-Athens row over Macedonia's constitutional name.
Ivanov is scheduled to meet several US congressmen and senators, as well as Thomas Countryman, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. lk/fd/19:53

This is embarrassing. NATO didn't invite Macedonia to the recent summit in Lisbon. As an organisation, NATO doesn't care about Macedonia (the relationships built between Macedonian and American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are a separate issue,). Yet Ivanov is still begging them for help:
There is no such thing as a mutually acceptable solution when one party will not recognise the identity of the other! When are Ivanov and Gruevski going to stop lying to the Macedonian people? For 20 years we have been hearing the same song from these politicians, and at the end of the day, we are still referred to by that stupid acronym in the international arena.
