Bullets started flying in Macedonia

Today,the owner of the pro-government website Netpres,Kosta Krpach was found dead in his apartment in Skopje.
Around 13:00 h local time there were shots fired from his apartment that ended into a parked van outside.No one was injured in the van and police intervened almost immediately.
Upon entering his apartment he was found dead with a bullet wound to the chest.The police suspect suicide but other options aren't excluded yet.
Kosta Krpach was one of the 56 abolished people by president Ivanov earlier this month.He was suspected of corruption in the "Israeli equipment" case along with former head of the secret police Sasho Mijalkov and a couple of other people:

In a separate incident, a high SDSM official was wounded in the leg in Bitola while sitting with friends in a local caffe.
His wound is not life-threatening and police are investigating the case. So far it isn't known whether it was a stray bullet or a deliberate act:

Assuming he died from one bullet wound to the chest, and that there were multiple shots fired, and that one of the bullets ended up in a van outside...I don't know how suicide is the first option. Sure, the police have access to information we don't have. But still, based off of only that information, it seems a little off.

Maybe the official theory will be that there was only one bullet and it went through his chest and through walls and/or windows to end up in a van. Or that his first attempt at shooting himself in the chest failed. Or he lost his mind, fired a shot outside, then shot himself.

Regarding the SDSM official: it may have been a stray bullet, but someone was obviously shooting at someone, and given the political environment, I doubt it was an unintentional shot.

Still, they could just be coincidences.

In the afternoon at about 13:20 pm, a person fired a gun from a balcony on the street Naroden Front in the neighbourhood Kapistec, it s already believed probably committed suicide confirmed for the Ministry of Interior (MOI). They still say inspect and now know that the person is found dead in the apartment.

Some of the media reported from unofficially sources that the person shot at, apparently, is one of 56 pardoned abolirani President Gjorge Ivanov.

“Meta” sources unofficially say that the person whose lifeless body was found in the apartment was that of cancelled Kosta. Of those who were granted pardons by the President, the only one with this name is owner of the portal “Netpress” Kosta Krpach.

The MOI told “Meta” that the person was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. Beside the body was found the weapon was found, probably the same gun fired.

This afternoon people reported a shooting in downtown Skopje. Police teams are heading out to the scene, they also said that their was a damaged van in the shooting.

Bitola Police confirmed that today, at some point in the afternoon, Borce Petrovski, a SDSM senior official and former MP from Bitola was injured with a bullet in his leg.

From Bitola, journlaists from “Meta” were told said that the investigation is ongoing and is still being inspected by experts, and more information concerning the incident will be announced later.

The incident took place in the neighborhood Karpos of Bitola, while the member of the opposition sat and talked with his friends on the side walk.

The bullet, from what we know, ended up in his upper leg, after which he was hospitalized. Despite his injury he is not in a critical condition.

It is still unclear who shot him, and where they shot him from.

Information on the case spread through the city like wildfire, causing unrest among its citizens.

Well according to info it wasn't just one bullet fired in the van.
Several bullets hit it and the shots came from his apartment window.Was he aiming at someone or did he just fired random shots at parked vehicles is something the investigation needs to show.
It is a highly suspicious incident,giving he was involved in the bribe case while purchasing the Israeli surveillance equipment.Did Sasho Mijalkov and the rest of the suspects thought he was about to "sing" in exchange for immunity and decided he couldn't take that chance?
Giving he was abolished by Ivanov and therefore couldn't be accountable for any jail time,he didn't have any obvious reason to take his own life,which makes this case even more mysterious.

From the Special Prosecutors Office it was confirmed that Kosta Krpach approached them and offered to testify in one of the cases they were investigating.He gave several statements but only as a witness.
He was never a suspect so they state they don't know why he was on Ivanov's list in the first place.
This only deepens the suspicions regarding the circumstances of his death.

Special Prosecution Witness Death Shocks Macedonia
The unexplained death by gunshot of a Macedonian Special Prosecution witness has sparked debate about whether he was killed - or committed suicide - in relation to a criminal investigation.

After a Special Prosecution witness was found dead in his apartment on Wednesday, speculation has raged in Macedonia about whether he was the victim of a mafia-style murder or killed himself.

Police found Kosta Krpac, 40, manager of the Finzi company that owns NetPress news portal, with a bullet shot in the chest on Wednesday in his apartment in central Skopje. Previously shots were heard fired into a van parked outside his building.
According to the police report, on Wednesday four to five shots were heard near Krpac's apartment after which police found three bullet holes in a van parked in the vicinity.
Later, police said that they suspected that Krpac fired the shots himself.
Krpac had voluntarily talked to the Special Prosecution - set up to target high-level crime - and was listed as a witness in one of their investigations.
"Cooperation with the witness was flawless and he was an extraordinary person, so news of his death has struck all employees in this prosecution," the Special Prosecution wrote.

The prosecution added that it "possesses evidence concerning many relevant circumstances [linked to Krpac] , including [evidence] about the pressure which Krpac faced, but since this is extraordinary confidential information, it will not be disclosed to the public".

Pro-government media on Wednesday pronounced the death a probable suicide. However some claimed he had come pressure from the Special Prosecution and might have become mentally unstable because of this.

Krpac is one of the 56 people, mostly top politicians and their associates, whose criminal investigations were blocked by President Gjorge Ivanov on April 12.
The presidential pardon added fresh tension to Macedonia's political crisis, sparking anti-government protests in Skopje and in other towns.

The firm that Krpac worked for was connected to a suspected corruption case involving the procurement of Israeli surveillance equipment in 2011 for the Macedonian police.
The opposition Social Democrats raised the issue in one of their so-called "bombshells", batches of illegally wiretapped telephone conversations of state officials.

The then chief of secret police, Saso Mijalkov, whose voice was heard in the wiretaps arranging the procurement, denied claims that he had sought a hefty bribe to smooth the procurement of the surveillance equipment.

Former Interior Minister Pavle Trajanov said speculation that Krpac might have been killed was pointless at this stage.
"We should be patient and wait for the detailed investigation to finish. I hope the investigation will be impartial and allows us to see the motives for this tragedy," he said.

The death comes against a background of a political crisis in Macedonia that revolves around opposition claims that the government formerly led by Nikola Gruevski was responsible for the illegal wiretapping of over 20,000 people as well as other crimes.

Gruevski, who took power in 2006 and resigned as Prime Minister earlier this year under the terms of an EU accord reached last summer, claims unnamed foreign intelligence services “fabricated” the wiretapping tapes and gave them to the opposition to destabilize the country.
