Well when people are thinking the “West” are the true architects behind all the destabilisation, as though the thought of a major European gas pipeline from Greece going through Macedonia would ever come anywhere close to the realms of reality, I guess everything is possible, who knows, maybe Gruevski has bought the EU as well, why don’t we throw in Russia while we’re at it too... not to mention Alderaan

On a serious note you are right about the pipeline. Its not a valid theory either since 1) it will never happen, 2) I doubt they need Macedonia to make the pipeline happen. 3) if they really wanted Macedonia to back out of the pipeline I'm sure a simple wire transfer would have gotten it done.

The Americans love compliant puppet statelets, they fear that Gruevski is starting to look a little too far eastward.
The Americans couldn't give a rats arse about democracy, human rights abuses, transparent government, press freedoms or anything else, so long as the tyrant is working with America and not against it...that was the downfall of Hussien, Gaddafi and what is working against Assad.

Gruevski's undoing will ultimately be greed...he could've continued fleecing Macedonia whilst being an American lapdog (probably the role Zaev has been promised) and the yanks would've turned a blind-eye to his corruption...but he's starting to step on some toes now.
