Poor DP.NE parliament members, they have no other means of expressing patriotism so they take advantage of the 5th placed Macedonian handball ball team. PR materialism at its best.

Four ex Yugoslav Republics are in the top 6 teams at this European Championship in Handball hosted by Serbia.
Serbia and Croatia are playing the first semifinal match, while Macedonia and Slovenia, another two Republics are playing each other for a qualifying ticket for London 2012 as well as for the 5th position in Europe.
Four out of Six!
Despite lots and lots of money being thrown into TV rights by Germany, France... their citizens will not watch their teams fight it out for the top spots.
The ex Yugoslav Republics just like in the past continue to produce top athletes, and when it comes to handball, the best in Europe.
Meanwhile, Macedonian Fans called "Phalanx" or "Falanga" have become legendary... Without causing incidents both durinig European championship in basketball and now in handball, they by far outnumber any other fans and create an atmosphere that no one can match. As an example, German handball players Kraus and Strobel wished to have a fraction of the atmosphere Macedonian fans create in Germany, even if they lose their matches.
On a different note, the Belgrade Arena speaker asked 10,000 Macedonian fans to stay in the Arena and cheer for Serbia for their upcoming match, as if they were for rent! :-)

When have the serbs supported the Macedonians...?
This article forgets to mention that under yugoslavia, the Macedonians were neglected and that the regime highly prioritized and focused on the Serbians and Croatians, hence the reason behind their success in tennis, soccer, basketball, waterpolo, handball and track and field.
Macedonians sporting sector is now making its-self known. (starting from scratch). We make war that we may live in peace.

EHF Stupidity, Lazarov Not in All Star Team
"Lets make everyone happy" is the new motto of the EHF.
Kiril Lazarov who has immortalized himself as the top goalscorer in all European championships with 61 goals (he is also the top goalscorer in all world championships - 92) didn't make the 'all star' team of the European handball federation.
In Lazarov's spot, the EHF picked Croatian player Marko Kopljar who scored 40 goals less than Lazarov. Even in the assist category Lazarov is plus 13. Any sort of comparison between the two players is just not worth mentioning.
For the irony to be greater, even Croatian media mocked the EHF decision, even though Kopljar is their own player.
"Any sort of comparison between the two is ridiculous, we all know who Lazarov is. If EHF wanted to make everyone happy, they could have simply given away 100 awards" are some of the comments in Croatian media.
Lazarov is being Lazarov and is already thinking about the Olympic qualifications and Austria as the next opponent for the world championship.
As for the EHF, it continues to be what it's always been, an unprofessional organization.

Thanks for those links Brat.
What i find frustrating is every game we lost, was exactly that, we lost not that the other team won. On every occasion, we had it in the bag only to let it slip. Even the eventual gold medallist Denmark, we had them until we copped a goal with two seconds to go after a turn over that 9 times out of ten we score.
Never mind, they did well for a team that wasn't given a chance.
It was The Macedonian spirit that made them achieve the unexpected. We should be proud.Last edited by Bill77; 01-30-2012, 07:19 AM.http://www.macedoniantruth.org/forum/showthread.php?p=120873#post120873

Стравот на Атина од овој Македонец одел до таму што го нарекле „Страшниот Чакаларов“ „гркоубиец“ и „крвожеден комитаџија“.

HC Metalurg : Croatia Osiguranje Zagreb (18.03.2012)
Tickets are sold for 2-3 hours (7000 of them )
Something from Croatian media:
Zagreb awaits hell in Skopje:
Sold out seven thousand tickets for the match Cervar and Balic.
NEZAPAMĆENO zanimanje vlada u Skopju za prvu utakmicu osmine finala rukometne Lige prvaka, koju 18. ožujka u dvorani "Boris Trajkovski" igraju makedonski prvak Metalurg i hrvatski Zagreb.
translation from google translate:
An unprecedented interest in the government in Skopje for the first leg of their last final of the Champions League handball by 18th March in the hall "Boris Trajkovski" play champion Metallurg Macedonian and Croatian Zagreb.
Although capacitz hall handball tickets about six thousand places, in Skopje, this time add a few hundred seats, but the demand is such that it seems to be to visit Zagreb and filled the national stadium of Philip II of Macedon!
Seven thousand tickets, at an average price calculated in our currency is about 30 kuna, grabbed it for barely two hours.
Skopje metalheads leads most successful Croatian handball coach Lino Cervar, a goal they defend Darko Stanic, Serbian hero from the recent EP and one of the most deserving as the Serbs won the silver. Cells are very well remembered by our team, and everyone else with whom they met on the euro and certainly before the seven thousand Macedonians horny again be the biggest obstacle to our guard Horvat and Kopljar.
Metallurgist is through the group (third behind HSV and Cimos, and in front of Wisla, St. Petersburg and Constanta) achieved a historic success, but in Skopje appetites have grown and now want to eliminate the double champion of Europe.
Overture this large calculation is this weekend, on Sunday in Varazdin SEHA meet in the regional league.

EHF Champions League: Metalurg beats Zagreb 19-18 in a thriller
Metalurg took a hard-earned and close victory, which leaves chances to both teams in the second leg. The first 20 minutes were something like a re-match of the EHF EURO 2012 semi-final Serbia vs. Croatia, when the Croats fought hard with extraordinary easily the best European goalkeeper Darko Stanic. And he was the reason why the match had not been decided early. With his saves Stanic kept Metalurg's hopes alive.
Both teams were extremely focused on their defence sides, which resulted in the fact that at the break only 16 goals had been scored. After Metalurg had the better start with 3:2, Zagreb took control as their defence stood like a wall and the Macedonians lacked the means to get through. In the 22' minute Zagreb was in front 7:4, but Metalurg reduced the gap to two goals at the break.
And the result remained nearly equal until the middle of the second half, still with strong defence sides. When Metalurg scored a 3:0 series the hall “Boris Trikovski” went crazy, as the host had turned the game and grabbed back the lead at 14:13.
And as Zagreb became nervous Metalurg increased the lead to16:14 and 18:16. When goalkeeper Petar Angelov saved a penalty shot of Marko Kopljar the gate was open for a clear victory, however the referess proved somewhat harsh against the Macedonian team when they gave a 2 min. suspension to Markovic which immideatelly had an impact on the score. Zagreb with a player plus on the field, reduced the lead to 19:18. With 30 seconds to go, Metalurg coach Lino Cervar took his time-out, but the final attack of his team was blocked.

Very tough game like everybody expected. Second match in Zagreb will be even tougher, but I really believe in this guys.
