Macedonia Elected to UNESCO's Executive Board

    Wednesday, 02 November 2011

The Republic of Macedonia was elected a member of the UNESCO Executive Board for the period between 2011 and 2015 in elections held Wednesday at the 36th session of the UNESCO General Conference in Paris.
By being elected, Macedonia for the first time in its history becomes a member of the most important body of this crucial organisation within the United Nations system, the Foreign Ministry says.

"The Republic of Macedonia's membership to the UNESCO Executive Board is a recognition of the country's significant contribution to the activities of this organisation and the United Nations. It is an additional chance to affirm the country as an active and accountable member in international organisations after it chaired the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly in 2007-2008 and the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in 2010," reads the press release.

do good and talk about it
    1) Macedonians belong to the "older" Mediterranean substratum...
    2) Macedonians are not related with geographically close Greeks, who do not belong to the "older" Mediterranenan substratum...

Do we have a copy of that press release? I can't find it on google. Here is what is says on an official UN website (using the racist and demeaning acronym as per the UN standard):

Austria, France, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom and Northern Ireland and United States were elected from the Western European and other countries grouping to join the executive board. Russia, Czech Republic, Montenegro and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia were chosen from Eastern Europe.
In the name of the blood and the sun, the dagger and the gun, Christ protect this soldier, a lion and a Macedonian.
