I don't think it should be viewed as an attack on capitalism or a comparison to communism, the answer sits, like most things somewhere in the middle.

Clearly, extreme right wing capitalism is every bit as dangerous as any communist backwater...

      A Letter from Goldman Sachs
      Concerning Occupy Wall Street

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)– The following is a letter released today by Lloyd Blankfein, the chairman of banking giant Goldman Sachs:

      Dear Investor:

Up until now, Goldman Sachs has been silent on the subject of the protest movement known as Occupy Wall Street. That does not mean, however, that it has not been very much on our minds. As thousands have gathered in Lower Manhattan, passionately expressing their deep discontent with the status quo, we have taken note of these protests. And we have asked ourselves this question:

How can we make money off them?

The answer is the newly launched Goldman Sachs Global Rage Fund, whose investment objective is to monetize the Occupy Wall Street protests as they spread around the world. At Goldman, we recognize that the capitalist system as we know it is circling the drain – but there’s plenty of money to be made on the way down.

The Rage Fund will seek out opportunities to invest in products that are poised to benefit from the spreading protests, from police batons and barricades to stun guns and forehead bandages. Furthermore, as clashes between police and protesters turn ever more violent, we are making significant bets on companies that manufacture replacements for broken windows and overturned cars, as well as the raw materials necessary for the construction and incineration of effigies.

It would be tempting, at a time like this, to say “Let them eat cake.” But at Goldman, we are actively seeking to corner the market in cake futures. We project that through our aggressive market manipulation, the price of a piece of cake will quadruple by the end of 2011.

Please contact your Goldman representative for a full prospectus. As the world descends into a Darwinian free-for-all, the Goldman Sachs Rage Fund is a great way to tell the protesters, “Occupy this.” We haven’t felt so good about something we’ve sold since our souls.

      Sincerely,

      Lloyd Blankfein

      Chairman, Goldman Sachs
"Ido not want an uprising of people that would leave me at the first failure, I want revolution with citizens able to bear all the temptations to a prolonged struggle, what, because of the fierce political conditions, will be our guide or cattle to the slaughterhouse"
      GOTSE DELCEV

^ Absolutly, after all that would be the most un-american thing to do.
Unfortunatly, we are a far cry from the real American ideas we once embraced.

As for the rest, do you want something for nothing?
No, not at all, In regards to education and student loans it would be better to invest in American youth and education. Why give subsidys to cooporate giants but not to the youth ? In today's world where Americans are falling behind in education in comparison to the rest of the world we are bleeding them dry instead of investing in them. After all, you reap what you sow. The occupy wall street movement aims to gather a million signatures to have those students default on their student loans as a message to the banks. That said, Obama just passed a law to relieve some of that burden. I think they are starting to get the message. Enough is enough already.

Agreed, but what they are doing is not capitalism. If it was Lehmen bros, Fannie Mac and other companies should of been allowed to default. Instead we pumped tax payer money into them as you noticed. This is Corporatism, not Capitalism. What gets me the most is that it was these very same companies that caused this global meltdown. Goldman Sachs for example was withholding information to potential investors that the bubble would burst. They made a killing off the despair of millions of American homeowners without any consenquence. Then you got Bank of America that wants to charge a fee for debit card use. First time ever for that, they say they have an obligation to their shareholders to make a profit. Well, we have an oblilgation to close our accounts and tell them to fuck off. These are just some case examples out of many.

Phoenix gave you a good answer. This is about being against the lawless, brute capitalism and being against these globalist freaks, doesnt mean supporting communism. Ofc i know what was the brute communism because Turkey fought against them from 1940s to 1990, fought against Russians genocidal policy vs their subjugated Turkic states and against their satellite states in Balkans. It was the communists who caused suffering of many Turks. Currently i see no difference between brute capitalism and brute communism. They are same.

The video belongs to David Duke, not mine. He clearly says that he is anti-zionist but not anti-semitic. Interestingly, thats what globalists says whenever people say something against the corporate giants and you repeat them here by talking about so-called anti-semitism. Me on the other hand, i have a jewish friend from Izmir and i have nothing against ordinary Jewish people. In fact, i may have gone synagogs here more than i`ve ever visited mosques. But i am against these few zionists and others who acts similar as the communists of the past. I am also against their globalist policies and their agenda of keeping people under their control by using means of religion and other ways, like so-called harmony between religions, capitalist neo-religion of evangelism, hybrid zionism/christianism.

            Omg, is this real???

            This is Corporatism, not Capitalism
            It would be more suitable to call this as "financial terrorism" as described here for the case of Gaddafi&Libya. These videos are from June this year;

Goldman Sachs ripped of Gaddafi for billions of dollars first then they offered Gaddafi to be a shareholder of their banking company as a compensation. Just think about this; why Goldman Sachs gives an offer like this to a so-called dictator??? Was it because they already knew the invasion plan of Libya and killing of whole Gaddafi family a year ago?????

VANGELOVSKI; I'd rather the worst of capitalism than the best of communism any day. Worst of capitalism =United States (possibly there are worse but most talked about recently) Best of Communism =China (more Socialists though Socialism and communism are ideological doctrines that have many similarities). You tell us who is doing fine out of the two?

By the way, Which capatalist nation treat all their citizens like human beings? USA?

North Korea? what are you talking about? can't you see all the love, parades, tears, singing the citizens perform towards its leader? They love him (kim jong il) and his system. Life is rossie. While every leader of a capatalist nation gets spat at and jeered. What does this tell you? JK

PHOENIX; the answer sits, like most things somewhere in the middle.

Well Australia is said to be based more on Capitalism then anything else. Need I say more? All these hippies complaining about BS. All they want is to sit there and receive tax benefits thats the only reason. They want money to do nothing. Where as cooperate giants and rich people have obviously done something to achieve their success and money.

Capitalism is at the end of its life span, it enslaves humanity by creating a mindless moronic consumer culture.

Its driven by individualism, greed and selfishness whilst raping and destroying our only home Earth, for short term profit and not long term benefit of society.

Capitalism is the USA's crowning achievement which is why the people of that nation are the worlds most ignorant and stupid.

From genetically modifying foods, to additives and preservatives that cause cancer, ADD and god knows what else.

Capitalism driven by an imaginary digitized wealth is boom and bust, the boom is over!

Time for a new system that aims to benefit humanity, not enslave and exploit it.

You sound like Marx like its 1848. Another fool who's utilising the technological advances that only capitalism has been able to bring about to claim its useless and then exercising the freedom to express these vacuous views while claiming he's enslaved!

So you do want something for nothing. We shouldn't be subsidising private companies with public funds. Same goes for students. Why shouldn't they pay their own way?

I would be surprised if you actually understood some concepts, Ill break some down to you:

Most people work atleast 8 hours a day, come home watch the brainwash box, want a bigger car, bigger house and other usless materialistic consumer goods that does not bring happyness.
Growing debt means he has no option but to work crazy hours so the rich can get richer, whilst he foolishly believes his wealth is growing because the value of his house is increasing.

And more assumptions driven by stupidity on your behalf, when did I ever say I was enslaved??
