Further, Israel has test-fired a new missile capable of reaching Iran. The missile, named Jericho, is said to be capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

The word on the grapevine is that nothing will be done during the Northern winter, so make the best of it. Happy holidays. Others are saying it wont be until after the British Olympics too keep British support on-side.

I don't really agree with this Obama was just recently in Australia and declared that military focus will be focused around east and south-east Asia.

It is true that Obama will be sending 2500 marines, but the USA are a global player.

I think the Arabs will be allowed to take over Syria and bomb Iran, all with USA's silent approval, that way they have no trouble with Russia.

Does anyone know what version of Islam most Pakistanis are?
The USA seems not to be favouring them.

A big blow for the USA if they have to leave their base in Pakistan, it will cut a important supply route.....

Pakistan doesn't need the USA anyway, they have 11 thousand chinese soldiers in Kashmir, and have China building a port and navy base of the pakistan port of Karachi....

It doesnt matter that Pakistan has closed american bases and that the USA is leaving afghansitan, the loyal lap dogs and slaves to the West, the macedonians are sending more troops into Afghanistan:

Macedonian Parliament Sends 172 soldiers to Afghanistan

            Wednesday, 09 November 2011

Macedonia's Parliament at a session on Tuesday passed a decision to send Macedonian Army (ARM) troops to take part in a peace mission in Afghanistan as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).

Deputy Defense Minister Emil Dimitriev said that 172 soldiers of the Macedonian Army would be deployed in Afghanistan in compliance with the decision.

Out of them, 150 are members of the mechanised infantry company, two staff officers for ISAF commands, five non-commissioned officers who will work in the Operational Mentor and Liaison Team (OMLT), four staff officers for the Military Police School and Mobile Training Team. NATO, a strategic partner or contributor country will cover transportation costs, while other costs such as salary, fees and logistics costs will be provided by the Republic of Macedonia.

The Kingdom of Norway will cover costs for transport, accommodation, food, fuel and emergency medical protection for the 6-member medical team within the Norwegian provincial reconstruction team, while other costs for salaries and fees will be provided by the Macedonian Ministry of Defense.

"This is the 11th rotation of the mechanised infantry company which is in charge of the security of Kabul's command. ARM troops will leave for Afghanistan in December or early January for a six-month mission. By participating in peacekeeping missions, ARM boosts its reputation, because we are upholding our pledge to join NATO and EU," Deputy Minister Dimitriev stated.

Hopefully they all survive when shit hits the fan eventually....

Iran threatens to hit Turkey if US, Israel attack

By ALI AKBAR DAREINI | AP – 5 hrs ago....

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran will target NATO's missile defense installations in Turkey if the U.S. or Israel attacks the Islamic Republic, a senior commander of Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard said Saturday.

Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the head of the Guards' aerospace division, said the warning is part of a new defense strategy to counter what he described as an increase in threats from the U.S. and Israel.

Tensions have been rising between Iran and the West since the release of a report earlier this month by the International Atomic Energy Agency that said for the first time that Tehran was suspected of conducting secret experiments whose sole purpose was the development of nuclear arms.

The U.S. and its Western allies suspect Iran of trying to produce atomic weapons, and Israel, which views Tehran as an existential threat, has warned of a possible strike on Iran's nuclear program. Iran says its program is for peaceful purposes.

"Should we be threatened, we will target NATO's missile defense shield in Turkey and then hit the next targets," the semiofficial Mehr news agency quoted Hajizadeh as saying.

Tehran says NATO's early warning radar station in Turkey is meant to protect Israel against Iranian missile attacks if a war breaks out with the Jewish state. Ankara agreed to host the radar in September as part of NATO's missile defense system aimed at countering ballistic missile threats from neighboring Iran.

A military installation in the Turkish town of Kurecik, some 435 miles (700 kilometers) west of the Iranian border, has been designated as the radar site, according to Turkish government officials.

Hajizadeh said the United States also plans to install similar stations in Arab states, which has spurred Iran to alter its military defense strategy.

"Based on orders from the exalted commander in chief, we will respond to threats with threats," he was quoted as saying.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has the final say on all state matters, is also commander in chief of Iran's armed forces.

Another senior Guard commander, Yadollah Javani, threatened that Tehran will target Israel's nuclear facilities should the Jewish state attack Iran.

"If Israel fires a missile at our nuclear facilities or vital installations, it should know that Israel's nuclear centers will be the target of our missiles," the semiofficial ISNA news agency quoted him as saying.

Also Saturday, the chief of Iran's elite Quds Force said he doesn't fear assassination and is ready for "martyrdom."

The comments by Quds Force commander Brig. Gen. Ghassem Soleimani were published in several Iranian newspapers. The Quds Force is the special foreign operations unit of the country's powerful Revolutionary Guard, and Soleimani is a key figure in Iran's military establishment but rarely speaks in public.

Tensions have increased in recent weeks between Iran and the U.S., with several American neoconservatives urging the Obama administration to use covert action against Iran and kill some of its top officials, including Soleimani.

The force has been accused by the Americans of involvement in an alleged plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington. Two men, including an alleged member of Iran's Quds Force, have been charged in New York federal court in the case.

Iran has dismissed the American claims as a "foolish plot", saying U.S. officials have offered no proof.

Onur, maybe it is time for you to invest in some under ground bunkers as it seems Turkey might get hit by Iran and even Russia.

Do you think your little Jewish and American friends will help you?

Much has been written about the Quds Force in recent months and the 'elite' Revolutionary Guard of Iran...similar stories circulated about Iraqs elite forces before the two Gulf Wars only to see a complete no-show from this unit once fighting began.

I reckon the Iranians will be just as 'effective' against any attack as the Iraqis were.
Iran doesn't have the resources, logistical capability or the stamina to withstand a protracted assault from a fully committed and supported Israel, let alone the might and war experiences that the USA can bring to the fight.

It will be a perfect war for the USA where they'll bomb Iran back to the stone age without risking a single soldier on the ground.

That's really good, Phoenix, that the USA/Israel could bomb the Iranians "back to the stone age". With the Iranians many long-range missiles, and threatening to use them on multiple countries, and with Israels standing position that if they were to 'go down for the count' they would use missiles they have aimed at even western countries, do you think any of your billionaire buddies will let you in their bunker - too bad for everyone else. Oh yeah, your in Australia - guess you can crack open a brewski and watch the fire-works. Maybe you could send them a memo to time it with New Year's Eve. You say you are not supporting a war, but you do sound exited enough for people to ask.

definitely iran is the next area of conflict.I would not rule out nuking it as george bush advocated it.It seems to be similar to north vietnam but with the added oil for good mreasure.
