    Went with Etihad from Sydney, Abu dhabi, Frankfurt then Skopje 2010...wasn't the best route but my Travel agent fked me up..and I missed out better routes, either way cost me $5,200 two Adults and a toddler..
    Overall took us in total around 30 fken hours...then when we got to Skopje - Macedonia then had another fken 3hr drive down to Bitola...not easy.. especially with a little one..
    I think many Macedonians in Australia do not travel as often as they would like due to the distance and cost of getting there..
    Now as Blagojce mention if there is a saving from $700-$1000 per person…well for many Families would be extra money to spend in Macedonia…for me a $2000 saving can mean staying an extra month there..
    I reckon If the Macedonians in Australia had lived as close as the Macedonians in Europe, Macedonia would be very different now..ie, allot more tourist, a strong economy and more real-estate and development..
    The Macedonians originates it, the Bulgarians imitate it and the Greeks exploit it!

      Guys, two of my relatives gone to Australia last month and they bought tickets for 700 US dollar each for Istanbul - Singapore - Sidney. I think it was singapore airlines or something.

      but you guys talking about paying 1500$ for Australia - Macedonia??? Why you pay that much in there?

        I think Qatar Airways will be opening Doha-Sofia flights soon. That could mean one stop flights to almost Macedonia. Would be a bit of a pain driving to Bitola, but Skopje or the towns on the eastern side of Macedonia wouldn't be too bad.

        Qatar currently do Budapest via Bucharest. It would interesting flying into Romania and seeing the Macedonian community there. The prices for Australia-Doha-Budapest with Qatar and then Malev into SKP are quite competitive.

        Jat will be continuing their seasonal flights into Ohrid from Belgrade. Those flights are quite helpful for us who are stationed in Bitola.

        If low cost carriers started utilising Ohrid Airport, that would almost be heaven for the Bitolcani here. Not to mention the ribari too.

              i just checked on byojet.com

              istanbul to sydney in september return, cheapest was 1170.
              same dates, only sydney to istanbul return, cheapest 1772.
              no idea why its like that. full fare airlines and their pricing system, just wait until the low cost carriers get their hands on them.

                I just checked Turkish web sites for it;

                I selected 15th March to Melbourne. Cheapest is Istanbul - Doha - Melbourne with Qatar airlines for 482 Euros all inclusive price. Thats about 650$. 19h total travel time.

                You can check from here. It has english language too;

                Edit: I checked round trip and found a package with Turkish airlines to Singapore and to Sydney with Quantas. Round trip, two ticket for march 12-20. 782 Euros total with discount. Thats 1050$ only. It looks like they rip you off in there!

                  company overview
                  short but rich history

                  The plan to launch Wizz Air was only conceived in June 2003 when six people with a wide range of airline expertise, as well as successful track records from across different industries, teamed up with József Váradi, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer. In just three months, Wizz Air was a registered company ready to fly.
                  The first flight took off on 19th May 2004 from Katowice. Today Wizz Air has 12 operating bases in the region: Gdansk, Poznan, Katowice, Warsaw and Wroclaw, in Poland, Budapest in Hungary, Sofia in Bulgaria, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara in Romania, Kyiv in Ukraine and Prague in Czech Republic, offering flights on over 150 routes.
                  service offering

                  Wizz Air is a value-oriented airline that focuses on innovation all along the way of the customer journey. Our aim is to make flying affordable to the citizens of CEE, as well as to provide a new travel experience to all travellers in the EU. The latest technology is deployed to ensure that the “Wizz Air experience” is outstanding in terms of service and value for money. Wizz Air offers a ‘simple service model’, which means: ticketless travel, use of cost- and time-efficient secondary airports, single class all-leather seat configuration, no seat assignment and catering on demand for extra payment.
                  Wizz Air is committed to operate new, best-in-their-class technology aircrafts, maintained by some of the most reputable companies such as Lufthansa Technik. This enables the company to achieve a consistently high standard of service for travellers. Wizz Air flies a young fleet of Airbus A320 aircrafts with 180 leather seats on board.
                  airports and network

                  Wizz Air is continuously looking at opportunities to expand its network of destinations and provide low-cost air transport to and from Central and Eastern Europe. Wizz Air currently offers flights on over 150 routes in Europe. The network is constantly being expanded and new destinations are being introduced. Wizz Air is committed to achieving the lowest cost base in the region and airport choice has a crucial impact. This is why Wizz Air - where possible - operates to secondary airports, which provide low costs that reflect in the price and provide friendly and fast customer service Wizz Air is in constant negotiations to establish a network of operations at more airports to provide low-cost air transport for Central and Eastern Europe.
                  Wizz Air group includes 3 operating airlines; Wizz Air Hungary (WAH, flight number starting with W6), Wizz Air Bulgaria (WAB, flight number starting with 8Z) and Wizz Air Ukraine (WAU, flight number starting with WU).
                  Please note that flights Kiev-Luton-Kiev are operated by Wizz Air Hungary.

                    Wizz Air has a young, single type Airbus A320 fleet, with average age of less than 3 years. These new aircrafts represent the latest technology, which helps to keep our operational cost down. The fleet will be increased by the addition of new aircraft in the coming years to achieve a fleet of 132 aircraft by 2017.
