Back in the 1990's when branko crvenkovski first appeared on australian tv i think it was the abc?I thought by appearances i thought maybe we are going to get a realistic person that will do something & was a switched on person.I was immediately shocked to hear what he was saying.That the macedonian people had no glorious past they should forget history,they should change their name to new macedonia.Also he was forthe fyrom name.
I was totally shocked to hear this person speak like that.Today we look at branko as a traitor to the macedonian cause.He is adangerous traitor in that he is out to destroy macedonia & to make as much money,corruption as possible.Just when we thought that we might get somewhere we are making retrogade steps all negative & destructive.You know macedonia is suffering like that all the time not only from the enemies from outside but there are enemies from within.If these people sdsm get in next time with another traitor boskovski that will be the end of the road for macedonia.Can anyone seriously point to anyone in macedonia that's a politician that will preserve macedonia & not let her down like the rest have??

Skopje. The opposition party Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) has nominated Radmila Sekerinska for leader of the campaign for the early parliamentary elections and mandate holder in case the party wins the elections, Macedonian Utrinski Vesnik daily reported.
The newspaper says Sekerinska accepted the challenge, although she had a try once in 2008 when she was leader of the party.
According to SDSM the environment is different now.

The largest opposition party has decided to get personal with Macedonian voters and will attempt to buy their way into Parliament with coffee and lokum.

According to press secretary Andrej Petrov, the SDSM will be visiting thousands of households who will be given 100g of coffee and a box of lokum (few million euros investment).

This is a result of the latest unsuccessful protest organized by the SDSM in front of the government which saw only a couple of hundred people show up.

Lokum and Coffee is headed your way, check the expiration date, just in case.

It wouldn't be realistic to expect non involvment of Greece into Macedonia's elections, however, it is prudent to say, Athens' involvment and meddling in Macedonia's internal affairs has been reduced to a minimum in the last several years.

Still, Greece's FM Dimitris Droutsas felt the need to extend a helping hand to his spokesman in Macedonia, Branko Crvenkovski. In an interview with a local Athens paper, Droutsas announced that "Skopje has changed their tone in the name negotiations", even though there hasn't been any negotiations in months with Macedonia suing Greece at the ICJ.

Droutsas attempted to directly influence the elections by practically implying the ruling government as 'soft'...

The ruling coalition shot their statement from a cannon, stating "Everyone knows who changed the name and which party receives help from Athens". Other ruling politicians were not so polite, calling Crvenkovski "parasite" and "savage, sinking so low to call the Greeks for help". Others used even harsher words that simply can not be translated into English.

A1 TV did not shy away from all this, of course, and posted a story that there have been 'secret name negotiations' citing a 5 month old article from a Greek paper called "Macedonia" with zero readership. The same story A1 posted three years ago few days before the previous elections.

MINA, surprised by SDSM (read Branko's) choice to nominate Radmila Sekerinska for PM reached out to ask her about her work as Vice President for "Socialist International", world's largest organization and network for socialist politicians. MINA did not get a respond to emails asking what qualified Mrs. Sekerinska for such prestigious role when she is practically out of politics and holds no function at the SDSM. Did it help her the fact that Greece's Prime Minister George Papandreou is the president of "Socialist International"? Radmila is Papandreou's right hand at Socialist International!

Sekerinska meets with Papandreou

The meeting with Papandreou, according to the Macedonian MP and ex Prime Minister candidate Radmila Sekerinska was part of the World Socialist Alliance which took place in Athens.

Sekerinska is the VP of the World Socialist Alliance, appointed to the position by the Greek PM George Papandreou who is the organization's president.

According to Sekerinska, the main discussions were around the reforms that were needed to take place within the WSA. There were no discussions on the name negotiations, perhaps because SDSM's thoughts on the subject are aligned with those of Athens?

SDSM leader Branko Crvenkovski, requested a meeting with the leader of VMRO-NP, Minister Georgievski, to begin negotiations to unify the opposition. Crvenkovski announces Protests

Macedonian bus drivers applauded the announcement of SDSM's leader Branko Crvenkovski in which the opposition leader promised to organize numerous protests against the Government led by Gruevski, stated Crvenkovski in a press conference earlier today.
The first protest is to be held on June 3rd in Strumica. The second protest is to take place on June 10th in Veles and the third in Kumanovo on June 24th.

After a deserved vacation time, the last protest is in Skopje, on September 2nd, as everyone is expected to be back from their vacations.

This a second attempt by the SDSM to organize protests in Skopje. The previous protests were unsucessful despite hiring 30 buses to bring protesters from other cities to the capital. Similar operational plan is expected this time around as well.
The Mayor of Strumica and SDSM's VP has already been making threats to his administration that everyone including their family members must board buses headed to protest sites if they'd like to keep their jobs. Why go on vacation when the SDSM promises to take you to Strumica, Veles, Kumanovo, Skopje for freee?

Currently Macedonia has no opposition. The communist elite from the 1970's continues to run the SDSM, organize meaningless press conferences in which they are against new investments, schools, new hospitals, roads, promise to crush the Alexander the Great monument, rename the Airport... only to schedule new press conferences the following day in which they claim they got carried away in their statements.

This is Macedonia's opposition?

Another words, there is no alternative opposition that is sane and taken seriously, which we can depend on to seriously oppose Gruevski to scare him, and keep him honest. Its why Gruevski has a free rein to do what he wants with his powers.
