Anti-corruption offices to be opened at universities

This is another good way to deal with Corruption, the profesori will think twice if they want to take Mito.

    Sunday, 06 June 2010

The Ministry of Education and Science will open offices for prevention and fight against corruption in education and protection of students' rights, Minister Nikola Todorov told a press conference on Sunday.

Anti-corruption offices will be opened in all of the five state universities. An office will be also opened in the Ministry to coordinate them and to refer corrupting actions to relevant institutions.

According to Minister Todorov, it will enable constant and timely contact and exchange of information on the issues arising in student organisations and between professors and students.

    - Our goal is to create an educational environment totally liberated of any corrupting actions and aiming at advancing the relations between professors and students in order the quality of education in general to be alleviated, stressed Todorov.

Students will have the chance to report any problems in education through a web application publicly or anonymously.

This project is being realised in the frameworks of a campaign for combating corruption in education.

    This is a simple farce.

One office like those has been already implemented couple of years ago but the results were disapointing.
No one has the guts to face the corupted univ. proffessors since their collegues will revenge him later.

However.. they are paid a really big money and basically rob the students for everything.

Bratot, It seems that Education Minister Todorov is very keen on stamping out corruption in the education sector. Keep in mind that all claims will be investigated by the Ministerstvo za Obrazovanije so its going to be harder for the Profesori to demand bribes.

Prolet I don't know what makes you so sure and convinced about this government behaving other than the previous since I have been through our educational system when it was under different political provienance and except declarative changes nothing really got better.
Only those proffesors who were close to each political group benefit from their positions and acted more arrogantly than before.

You try to change something on your own and you will never finish the university you started and probably you will have consequences during all your work life later on.

They are not only demanding bribes but they have set a legal system for collecting money such as "obligatory purchase of their books" having a list of students who have bought them so they are able to accede an exame only if they are on their list.
They are putting all kinds of costs on the students for all kind of stuff which none of us will probably see anything of it.

If you want to take some extra private classes from someone outside it has to be some person of their which is connected to them and takes huge amount of money for an hour and the deal is you pay to him but he will give you the most probable 3 variants of the questions which will be 100% on the exam.

There are many others ways they use and you can't do anything.

If you take a good look at the stuff on the universities you will recognize 3-4 clans of families ruling the whole higher educational system, from assistants to proffesors and rector.
