So the Greeks got the help they've been begging for. The final figure is a 200 billion Euro bailout I understand.

    Now we need to find out;

    What the conditions are?

How this affects Macedonia and the Macedonian people?

From the village of P’pezhani, Tashko Popov, Dimitar Popov-Skenderov and Todor Trpenov were beaten and sentenced to 12 years prison. Pavle Mevchev and Atanas Popov from Vrbeni and Boreshnica joined them in early 1927, they were soon after transferred to Kozhani and executed. As they were leaving Lerin they were heard to shout "With our death, Macedonia will not be lost. Our blood will run, but other Macedonians will rise from it"

My greatest concern, aside from the impact on Macedonia, is why the hell are we wanting to join this union of mostly bankrupt nations?

It's got me beat? It did appear to be a good option. I don't know now? Looking at an economic alliance with say, Turkey, seems a better option right now

An alliance with countries that have balanced fiscal policies would seem prudent. Shit, any fool can get into debt and then spend years paying for it!

Makedonche any fool can get into debt but not any fool can find a bigger fool to pay it for them. This isn’t any accident. Its been party time for 20 years to keep the public in the dark while the haves in Greece have been squireling money aside over this time. It take some time to put away billions. The value of property and stock will fall and the haves will buy up cheap. Unemployment will rise so tradesmen will be cheap. Want to buy some prime land and build apartment for a fraction of what it would have cost you and will be worth a fortune in a few years time when the economy picks up do it in a recession if you can afford to. There will be people who scream but that was always intended Greece’s debt will be spread amongst eu countries and everybody gets to enjoy paying it off.

Quite true, however they have pillaged and raped from not only their own people but also the EU, the difference is that their own people won't tolerate huge debt, while the rich live in comfort and they live in poverty, hence the demonstrations and strikes occurring. The EU & IMF will force them into a repayment schedule and more austerity measures but this won't sit well with the general populous who will do whatever it takes to achieve a reasonable living, including strikes/violence and lynchings if neccesary. I look forward to more chaos and pain on the racists, in particular those in authority who masterminded this charade and those who continue to implement it/sustain it. Your'e either part of the problem or your'e part of the solution, and when there are more part of the solution than the problem then things will change rapidly and with greater force. This may well present great opportunities for us Macedonians to infiltrate the racists and inflict more pain-financially/socially. I wonder how many days without food/water/electricity the average greek will last before they concede that the Macedonians do exist and it's been all one big lie?

I can only hope you’re right makedonche. Recognition of Macedonians as a distinct group even as a minority in Greece would be a huge shift in thinking. Some talk of reunification as goal but and prospect of land will only intensify resistance. I see the primary objective should only be recognition as it would be more palatable. The more the Greeks realise their government has been lying to them and it has ruined their lives maybe they will start to question if they have been lied to about other things but it is a long shot. I hold greater hope in the archaeological digs Gruevski has commissioned than our neighbour seeing reason. In any event a self declared enemy should not be pitied and hopefully it all falls apart on them. Malce mu e.

This is a great article on Greece

If Greek firms find it to hard to keep their business going possibly more businesses will outsource to Macedonia due to the cheaper labour rate which may help alleviate the unemployment rate in some of the southern areas.

Unbelievable the pays and pensions they get according to Prolets article. They should be made to go on eu standards for pension entitlement requirements and revoke the pensions of anyone not meeting the requirements. The benefits they get should have been more highlighted in eu countries in newspaper articles and radio talkback shows to highlight why the eu workers taxes are going up to finance tricky greeks getting a pension at 50 when they need to work to 65 and all the other benefits. The money should not go to provide better conditions than the eu workers. The eu deserve any misery coming to them. I think the eu politicians would have thought harder about offering help if the dissatisfaction in their own countries was greater and probably would have been if thing like this were repeatedly highlighted to them. Even at this stage it is not too late to highlight these items to media outlets by those living in eu countries.

OziMak, Not only that the key fact here is that over 200,000 people in the administration are over staffed, lets not forget that if a person is not married or is divorced then they are entitled of their parents pension, no wonder Olympic Airways went broke according to the report it says that staff and their families are entitled to fly anywhere they like free of charge.

It gets even dumber. Not only do they get their pensions at age 50 but also at 80 percent of salery and 14 monthly pension payments compared to germanys age 65 46 percent of salary and 12 monthly payments. Maybe germans should start feeling more greek afterall that’s all you need to do to be greek and start demanding greek style pensions instead of just getting the greek style from their government for helping the greeks.

Germans furious's luxury pension system of Greece

                            Pension for unmarried

Under the headline "Crisis? What crisis?", The German Bild published a report from a bar razuzdaniot life of the Greeks

Question of the day when Germany Greece poured $ billion aid for the euro. German tabloid Bild made a comparative analysis of state pension systems in Germany and Greece.
                            - In Greece, the amount of state pension amounts to 70 to 80 per cent of salary, and in Germany from 42 to 46 percent.
                            - Greece 14 receive pensions annually, and 12 Germans
                            - From 2004 to 2006 state pensions in Greece increased by 11 percent, while in Germany pensions are frozen.
Bild published another unusual Greek special pension scheme. Unmarried daughters of soldiers and officers receive pensions of their fathers by the end of life.
