“NATO should no longer allow Greece to jeopardize the security and stability of the entire Southeast European region,” stated UMD Chairman Stojan Nikolov

If 3 of 4 neighbours of Macedonia are in NATO and 1/2 of the 4th border is NATO protectorate, than how is posibile that this region would destabilize in relation to Macedonia?

We should be happy we are so fuckin surrounded by NATO, we feel safe aren't we?

BRAVO, I have been telling people in Toronto that very thing for 20 years. NATO, is a problem NOT a solution and now use blackmail.

Ha ha, good point guys. NATO surely would not attack a country that has been such a great friend of theirs. In fact, NATO owes Macedonia.

That is a very good point Bratot and the white elephant that UMD refuses to address.

Further, UMD (or even the Macedonian Government for that matter) is yet to provide one good evidence-based reason for joining NATO.

In relation to the Macedonian Government, they are yet to open a public debate about the merits (or more accurately the lack of) of joining NATO.

here is the biggest concern i have with the UMD, misleading information.

today i asked a well known macedonian in toronto are you a member of the UMD? yes. okay, in your opinion what has been the UMD's greatest accomplishment to date?

USA and Canada recognized the Republic of Macedonia.

Persuasive diplomacy.

Here is a bit of history on our 'status' at the international level. British policy, The 'Council of Three' at the League of Nations headed by Britain, and the policy of the League of Nations on the extermination of the Macedonians.

Has anything changed? In 1994 the Council of Europe had suggested the same thing, stating that the Macedonians must bend to the will of the Greeks.

Want to do something constructive? Since, Macedonia will NEVER be accepted into NATO or EU without a name change DEMAND that the government go back to using our real flag. BE PRO ACTIVE!!

What they're trying to do is flood forums with daily messages to create an illusion they're doing something. Most, is nothing of importance and rather then deal with our concerns they are so desperate they will begin to congratulate other''s to take some credit.

ie. UMD wishes to congratulate Lui Temelkovski, PM Harper and the Hawaii Boy Scouts for their UMD initiatives.

Lui is PRO ACTIVE and the UMD is NOT, it's very simple lets understand the difference.
