We all have work commitments, and nobody is asking for an answer right this minute. However, as they are given a channel of advertising here, then they should address concerns and questions that readers have. But why I am repeating this to someone like you, who has already been told a thousand times yet continues to act like Meto's ambassador for Australia? How much did Meto pay Informator for 'their' work during his tour?

You are entitled to ask your questions i think its only fair and democratic that Meto answers them. But at the same time dont get your hopes up too high, i still havnt seen a list of UMD achievements from 2009 and im waiting for it.

Diaspora Says Macedonia's Name and Identity Must Remain Unchanged

The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) said on Monday that Macedonia should join NATO and EU but warned that the country's name and identity must remain unchanged.

The UMD also called for a new initiative aiming to amend the UN Security Council Resolition 817 as regards the removal of the FYROM reference.

Metodija A. Koloski, President of UMD who spearheads the U.S. congressional delegation on a trip to Macedonia, made it clear that Macedonia's name is Republic of Macedonia and that the Diaspora hails that name.

The Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) is sponsoring a delegation of 18 senior Congressional staffers to Macedonia and Turkey. TCA and the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) are working together to educate the senior advisors about the primary issues of importance facing both nations and the status of their relationships with the United States.

The visit of the delegation aims to encourage all members of the US Congress and their staff to learn more about the rich history of Macedonia as well as the crucial importance of strong relations with the US and the strategic role Macedonia plays in the Southeast European region.

The delegation’s visit to Macedonia will help provide the participants with a deeper perspective on the region and the crucial importance of their relationship to the United States,” said G. Lincoln McCurdy, President of TCA.

McCurdy declined to make suggestion on how the name dispute should be resolved, but said he believes that more people should be familiar with Macedonia's truth about the dispute, and that Diaspora organizations may help a lot.

“The United States can only encourage the two countries – Macedonia and Greece – to work out a settlement and move forward. Instead of wasting time and energy on issues that could be resolved easily, both countries should focus on their own problems,” McCurdy said.

He underscored that organizations of Macedonian and Turkish Diaspora need to step up their activities versus powerful lobbying by Americans with Greek and Armenian descent. This is the reason why the Americans seem more biased to Greek and Armenian stands on history. In this context, McCurdy mentioned the Resolution condemning Turkey's genocide against Armenians, adopted by the U.S. Congress.

During their stay in Macedonia, the US congressional delegation will meet with President Gjorge Ivanov, Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki, and Defense Minister Zoran Konjanovski. They will have the opportunity to receive a briefing from the US Ambassador Philip Reeker on the current status of the US-Macedonian relationship; be briefed by representatives of the Turkish Mission to Macedonia; and will also meet legislators and representatives of NGOs working on foreign and domestic policy.

The delegation will visit three cities - Skopje, Bitola and Ohrid – before heading to Turkey. /end/ vs

UMD insulted the AMHRC/MHRMI, does not support the end of name negotiations

Here is the following taken from Currency Trader's post on Maknews regarding this very issue;

The following paragraph is taken from MIA which qoutes the president of UMD in regards to the campaign for ending the name negotiations. This campaign was initiated by the human rights organization MHRMI/AMHRC.

Skopje, 16 August 2010 (MIA) - We are not part of the campaign run by immigrants requesting name talks to be stopped, but we do consider that the name of the Republic of Macedonia is the Republic of Macedonia and we support that name, stated Meto Koloski - president of the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD)

It seems that Meto has taken the liberty of insulting members of the Macedonian diaspora by calling them "immigrants" instead of calling them "Macedonians" or "Diaspora" or "Human Rights Activists".

Meto also states that "We are not part of the campaign run by immigrants requesting name talks to be stopped" which would infer that the UMD are for continuation of these ridiculous talks.

When it comes to the critical issue facing the Macedonian Republic, i.e., the question of its political extinction, UMD HAVE ALWAYS SIDED with the West.

The problem is that many Macedonians have been deceived by UMD with their slick presentations, but I think that when you look at the fine detail - they are still the same sell outs and traitors they have always been.

Why on earth would any sane Macedonian continue to support the UMD? This is beyond disgraceful, and Meto's attempt to insult the AMHRC/MHMRI by following the line of some ignorant clowns in the republic, creating divide lines by referring to the Diaspora as immigrants, is a miserable act.

He should be holding his head in shame, the spineless individual. This is all a game for Meto, who only has aspirations to further his own career at the expense of the Macedonian Cause.

He can't grasp that first you must evaluate the overall effect on the Macedonian Cause, before making a move.

The Greek community and Macedonian community can come together and lobby together on matters of common interest - as evidenced by the (loosely, though nonetheless coordinated) successful joint effort to ensure a certain primary school in Melbourne continues providing Macedonian, and Greek, language classes after its' principal sought to remove them from the curriculum. That was a matter of common interest.


The Church example given, is not so. The Greek Church is equally opposed, if not more, to the Macedonian people and Macedonian Church than any Mosque run by Albanians. Assisting the Greek Church will be substantially detrimental to the Macedonian Cause because it is unlikely to cause any shift in the views and policies of the Greek Church - they have caused it to be a zero-sum situation.
