    Nova Zora Update

    Thanks Risto,

The second issue of Nova Zora has been released, here is the link :

I found a great domain name for sale on Dan.com. Check it out!

We can report that the first issue was successfully distributed throughout the relevant parts of Aegean Macedonia. Though we have received a report that the car owned and used to transport and distribute Nova Zora by one member of the distribution team, was recently severely damaged by racist vandals. The attempt to intimidate, continues.

There will be more information in the AMHRC Autumn Review, which shall contain an interview with the editor of Nova Zora, Dimitri Jovanov.

Also, just a reminder that there is a Nova Zora facebook group:

and that if anyone is interested in making a contribution to support the Macedonian human rights movement in Greece or in purchasing a hard copy of Nova Zora, please contact the AMHRC or MHRMI.

    Regards,

    AMHRC.

AMHRC, I heard from a baba of mine that there were reports issued by Greek media that Nova Zora was banned and taken out of circulation.

Did you hear about any of this?
From the village of P’pezhani, Tashko Popov, Dimitar Popov-Skenderov and Todor Trpenov were beaten and sentenced to 12 years prison. Pavle Mevchev and Atanas Popov from Vrbeni and Boreshnica joined them in early 1927, they were soon after transferred to Kozhani and executed. As they were leaving Lerin they were heard to shout "With our death, Macedonia will not be lost. Our blood will run, but other Macedonians will rise from it"

        Mikail,

To the best of our knowledge at this point in time, that is not the case. Though serious attempts have been made by chauvinist elements to intimidate the Nova Zora distribution team. If we hear anymore, we shall definitely report back.

        Cheers,

        AMHRC.

That's good. So The Greeks are employing any means possible to scare our people once more.

The Birth place of Democracy remains the Origins of Hypocrisy!

            Mikail,

Just an update - we have been reassured that distribution of the second issue of Nova Zora is proceeding and there has not been any ban placed upon it.

            Regards,

            AMHRC.

AMHRC, I have just heard that students in Lerin can select to learn a foreign language. Options are Italian, English, French and Bulgarian.

Why Bulgarian and not Macedonian Seems Greece and Bulgaria are at it again!

This refers to a University Department in the City of Lerin called Balkan studies. I think apart from the aforementioned languages one can also learn Serbian. But, indeed Macedonian is not included. Greece denies the mere existence of the ethnicity of Macedonians, so it's clear that they would avoid to put it as a language in that University, just a few kilometres from the Macedonian border.
                  Macedonian and proud!

Any news or progress on the lawsuit?
On Delchev's sarcophagus you can read the following inscription: "We swear the future generations to bury these sacred bones in the capital of Independent Macedonia. August 1923 Illinden"

                        Makedonche,

At the moment we are simply proceeding with gaining as many applicants as possible to participate in the action. The application process is tedious as it involves all of that bureaucratic paper work that many people find by nature to be banal. However it is necessary.

Once all applications have been finalised (which should take until Christmas this year) we hope soon after to instruct our lawyers to formally begin action in the courts.

One or two representatives from our committee will probably visit Adelaide and Perth around late August, to help finalise applications from S.A. and W.A. in general.

We cannot overstress the importance of spreading the news of this monumental action as widely as possible. Barely a week ago, we gained a new applicant from Melbourne who heard about the action "quite by accident from his sister, who heard it from a neighbour". We have disseminated the news of this action throughout the Macedonian media; however many Macedonians simply do not consistently listen to, read or watch Macedonian news mediums.

                        Regards,

                        AMHRC.

Thanks gentlemen! Time to go out there and tell more Macedonians about it!

They have plenty of land for compensation in lieu of money.
