Yes, it was very safe... except for those of us who spoke about Macedonia.

I fell asleep on a bench in Nish and people were worried, not looking to rape me. Yugoslavia had one good thing and that was law. It had strict law and it was followed and respected. Now in our country everything is raspashana komanda.
Of course socialism had postive elements, but also negative aswell.
Today people forgot all about the negative elements from the past.
and it's a kind of nostalgy left.
I heard from everybody the same story of sleeping on the bench.
Just I never saw one sleeping on a bench ever. In the past the were also no homeless people and no beggars (exept gypsies) and evryone got a job. But that's the past and we live now and do struggle for a better future.
After all Macedonian people chose living in a democratic capitalistic society.
If you like so much communism would you like to live in North Korea?

The world belongs to Macedonia. Macedonia does not belong to the world, especially not to Macedonia's neighbouring countries.

Who the fuck said anything about living in communisam, don't put words in my mouth. We are talking about crime here and that is it, crime is higher now than it was than. I travelled Jugoslavia as a kid, Barm Budva, Belgrad, Dubrovnik and walked the streets with other kids and it was safe. I don't care what bullshit you come up with, I am talking and sticking to the subject here. If you can't do that why comment? Don't fucking twist things, I never said I prefered communisam so take it back now. Don't play all smart pants on me.
Ha now I know why probably people didn't want to work for you in Macedonia, it's your way or you will just twist and change the story to be oops your way again.

Sorry if I have misinterpretated you,

But I was also a kid when Yugoslavia existed and it was safe in deed.
Not because of communism and that the communism party made the worst crime in macedonia ever and that people had more morality.
In the past with Yugoslav passport you could travel almost everywhere without any visa requirement.
So the whole bunch of criminals committed their crime outside yugoslavia. but afer getting visa requirements everything changed. those guys are hanging round on macedonian streets now or elsewhere in ex-yugoslavia and we cannot get rid of them as easy. But i guess from jan2010 they will leave macedonia freely.

and i let them choose how much money they want to earn for making a webpage

Let's get things straight: The crime committed by Albanians and Macedonias would be very different. For example, the crime in Bitola, Ohrid etc would mostly be corruption among the police and politicians, and then petty theft like pickpocketing and selling stolen goods.

The crime committed by Albanians would be more along the lines of illegal prostitution, drug dealing, human trafficking, stolen cars etc etc etc etc etc.

Walking home, blind drunk, at 4am through Bitola, I felt safer than I have any place in the world.

And let's not talk about pedophilia and bullshit like that -- the cases of such among the Macedonian community is few and far between, especially when compared to the shit we are used to seeing here in Australia and America and the rest.
