TM, I see some interesting parallels between the hapless England squad and team UMD, both are way overrated, somewhat directionless when in possession, devoid of ideas in midfield and a very leaky defence.

TM, They didnt look very good did they, they might even struggle against Slovenia. If the Slovenians can play like they did in that first half against USA, i cant see England doing much.

Slovenia stuffed up big time, nobody to blame but themselves.
If anything they were lucky not to lose 3-2. That was not a foul considering the Slovenian players were also holding the USA players. I'd like to think in such a scenario the two would cancel each other out and the game would be left to play. Good comeback nevertheless.

Lets hope Australia can pull something off tonight, although my expectations are quite low so lets just hope the aussies exceed them.

He didnt intentionally play it with his hand from what I can tell, but the ref made the call immediately, seems he was confident in what he saw.

Not sure what game you are watching Prolet, but that ball CLEARLY hit Kewells bicep (considered part of the 'hand' by FIFA) = CLEAR penalty.
It was not imo intentional though, so I dont believe a red should have been given...just a penalty was the right call.

Spartan, The ball was kicked at him, Kewell didnt lift his hand in the air did he? The ball was kicked hard and Kewell blocked it with his body it hit his shoulder and we've seen far worse cases not given. What about France-Uruguay where Thiery Henry had a clear penalty shout?

The ball is going straight at him, unless he lifts his arm in the air its not a penalty..

Pim is an idiot. We need to move away from this Pommie/Dutch style of playing. His defensive system hasn’t work nor did the long ball kick and run crap.
