Macedonia has adopted a new style for the car registration plate. It follows the EU model.

you realise some greeks might be offended by the 16 ray sun being left on.What do we attribute that to defiance or is it sheer laziness.Maybe the govt should deliberately get lazy regards the name & switch back the flag.Tom you realise the stickers will fall off eventually due to action of the sun & weather all natural causes..

you know i just spoke to some people that they are strugling on their pensions & the govt thinks about how that can change the numberplates.They said the cost of electricity is high even though the water is ok.The phone bill will tip it over.Their response is they must be losing their mind worrying over things like that.

The Cyrillic script (Kirilica), at yet another level is put on the backburner. It's a shame seeing it used less and less as time goes on. (I'm talking about the 4 letter code, not the acutal letters on the plate).

Guys come on, let's think about things realistically for a minute. The reason the plates were changed to add four digits in the middle was because Skopje only had enough license plate combinations to last until the end of December. The fourth digit allows for millions of new combinations which obviously will last for the next few centuries.

Adding the "MK" to the front is long overdue. We are Macedonia, and there is nothing wrong with having "MK" at the front of the plate. Many countries have a law that when travelling through them, you must have your country sticker visible to other motorists/police, such as the "MK" sticker. These license plates basically render that law outdated. The only reason I can think of that the government didn't do this earlier is to appease the greek border guards. During the 90s they forced all Macedonian drivers to put a big "FYROM" sticker over any "MK" sticker, so I wonder what they will come up with for our new plates.
