AFAIK, It`s been done by famous Turkish architect of 15-16th century, Mimar Sinan. He was known worldwide and he worked with Michelangelo for common architecture projects in Italy and he drew plans of several renaissance buildings.
Most probably he constructed many more buildings in Macedonia but i don't know if they are still intact today.
Onur, The Municipality of Istanbul donated over a million euros to help renovate the stone bridge, the best thing the Ottoman Turks did during the occupation was the stone bridge aswell as the Skopska Charshija.
Thanks for that BigMak, it certainly looks a lot more authentic and unique. I quite like the old style architecture. It's a shame such a disaster stripped vast amounts of Skopje's beauty and authenticity. Lets just hope it becomes a respectable and pleasant city in the future. The Skopje 2014 project seems to be taking a step in the right direction.
Some people dont seem to like it, its going to look alot better now then it did before thats for sure.

They look like good statues, and certainly figures of significance for the Macedonians. But are both of those also located in Skopje? Shouldn't Pulevski's statue be located closer to where he was originally from, in Mijak territory?
In the name of the blood and the sun, the dagger and the gun, Christ protect this soldier, a lion and a Macedonian.
