Two Macedonian internet radio stations in Aegean Macedonia

Not one, but two internet radio stations started working in Aegean Macedonia. The first one started yesterday. Its name is

    Voden Makedonsko Radio:

(Click on the image of the music player that you like, on the right top of the page, to hear it!)

The second one is Macedonian Culture web-RADIO 24 hours live.

      Thanks for the info GStojanov.

They are getting organised. Good to see.
From the village of P’pezhani, Tashko Popov, Dimitar Popov-Skenderov and Todor Trpenov were beaten and sentenced to 12 years prison. Pavle Mevchev and Atanas Popov from Vrbeni and Boreshnica joined them in early 1927, they were soon after transferred to Kozhani and executed. As they were leaving Lerin they were heard to shout "With our death, Macedonia will not be lost. Our blood will run, but other Macedonians will rise from it"

Does anybody ever speak, or is it just songs?
By the way, the first "station" is Vodenka's.

I like the Voden station better. A better choice of music (IMHO).

Yes, they do plan talk shows, and even news in both Macedonian and Greek. But it will take some time until they have enough material and experience.

It's a good start but keep in mind anyone can start an "internet radio station". It seems that these radio stations are just a list of youtube songs being played over and over again. When will Macedonians in Aegean Macedonia win the right to register a real radio station? Is that too much to ask???

You don't win the right, but pay for the right.

Apparently, a consortium of Macedonian patriots from the ROM considered buying a license, but the initial cost for a Solun license was in the vicinity of 500,000 euro and ongoing yearly expenses were at least that much again.

FYI there once was a working Macedonian radio station from Negush/Naoussa and the radio station was not only shut down but the owner was arrested. He had a license but the Greek government would not renew it again because he frequently played Macedonian songs and spoke Macedonian on the air. So don't tell me that the "cost" of operating a radio station is the problem here...

This is fantastic, great news for our people in Egejska Makedonija.

The Turks seem to have no problem maintaining their own radio stations and newspapers.

Of course, their community is given millions in Turkish government grants to enable them to maintain such vital services. A stark contrast to the pathetic efforts by 'our' government.
