I've heard 2 reasons why its on the 20th, can anyone confirm...
The first being that the new calendar is in use in the region, the second was that Ilinden (2 Aug) was the culmination and that the uprising started earlier in some parts i.e. late July hence the earlier celebration
Any truth to this?

Either way works out handy for visiting festivals right across Macedonia, with them being on different dates.

Can't wait to visit them all one day!

A) Macedonians in Greece should make a stand and follow the Macedonian Orthodox traditions. And thats following The Julian "Original" calender.

B) They were celebrating SV Ilia a religious day. Not "Ilingden" a celebration of a historical event.

I am not totally against this event. I just think it would be a good step forward if the egej go back to the original calender.

They look awfully similar to the pants worn by most Northern Albanians. I find it interesting that areas such as Krusevo and Mavrovo wear these type of pants. Do Macedonians on the Eastern side wear anything similar?

Oh for Christ's sake, every time a new Albanian enters the MTO we have to go through the same garbage claims, it's pathetic at best. Why would Macedonians get it from Albanians, why not the other way around? Let me guess, these are more 'hidden' Albanians like those that went to Turkey and the billion others around the whole world.....get a grip mate. Here's a tip, educate yourself, you can start by looking at what the guards in Athens are wearing.

Uskana, Krusevo is a Vlach Strong Hold however its been a symbol of unity and our uprising was there back in 1903.

What are your intentions here on this forum? Its clear that you are here for a reason, why not be honest and come clean about what it is you really want?

Good point Bill77. Just for Prolet and any others who may want to know the dates the Macedonian churches offer a calendar of holy days in both old and new dates but for anyone unable to get one the following link may help although other links are available via google on calendars.

Konjanici are leaving the cities around Macedonia and they are going straight to Krushevo.

This must be some experience traveling all the way to get to Krushevo with horses.
