![]() English wikipedia makes references to Čupovski's multiple attempts to establish a "Pan-Macedonian Conference" in Veles which apparently failed to be established first due to being "Anti-Bulgarian" and led to Čupovski's expulsion from the city. English wikipedia also makes reference to Čupovski being expelled from the home's of relatives for his "Pro-Macedonian and Anti Bulgarian views".
Starting this thread for any insight on these claims which I haven't encountered anywhere else. Any relevant information on Dimitrija Čupovski and how he is viewed in history should also come under this forum. |

![]() For a long time, the "progressives" thought it also wasn't terribly cool to be a "Macedonian" in Yugoslavian times. The "progressives" are now FYROMIANS for all intents and purposes.

![]() Čupovski supposedly called the conference to discuss the results of the First Balkan War and to organise a memorandum to be sent to the Balkan League in protest of Macedonia's partition.
Vrhovist Krum Zugrafov apparently proclaimed that he would "cut the tongues off those who speak of an independent Macedonia" at the conference.

![]() Apparently in 1905, Dimitrija was in Macedonia agitating for the opening of Macedonian language schools when he was captured by Vrhovists and forced to flee the country.

![]() Not sure if he was captured, but i remember reading in one of Blazhe Ristovski's book where he states that the pressure upon Chupovski was due to the Bulgarian Bishop in Veles and Vrhovist elements.

![]() Wasn't that related to his Macedonian conference from 1912?
