Som, Vicho Mountain is between Lerin and Kostur, could the song be about the Macedonians during the GCW?, quoting Risto Stefov,

If I am not mistaken that mountain is called "Vitsi" in Greek.

Severe battles were fought there during the Greek Civil War between Macedonian communist partisans and royal Greek fascists.

The Vicho (now Vitsi) is the mountain where too many Macedonians were killed. Even Grkomani shut the hell up when they go through there. If ghosts exist, that place would be full of them.

It is extremely close to my Father's village (Kotori) and is used as a pathway from Lerin to Kostur.

Now the Americans have a base there. And you are not allowed to even take photos there. I suspect nuclear warheads aimed at the rest of Europe.

SoM, that song sounds so familiar and I am am perplexed at my emotional attachment once I read familiar places and themes in the song.

It really is one of those type of songs RtG. Thanks for the follow up info about Vicho, I had only heard about it briefly in the past, and now I find out this. Clearly the place is of some significance for our people. If the song were on CD I would have tried to upload it, but I only have it on an old cassette tape that I accidentally stumbled on as I was looking for something else.

Maybe Orovnichanec can get it from MkMuzika?

MapleLeaf1, I would say that the song is definitely about the GCW. Not sure when it was made or recorded though.
