Also you are right about EU`s financial support to them. If i remember correctly, Greece took around 220 billion Euro as a free bonus from EU funds for 20 years. I guess 2nd country in the list is Poland with 65 billion EU.

So, in short, Greeks was living in a dream like the "Alice in wonderland". Germans and French taxpayers are bored with the fairy tale of the "Ancient Greece" anymore and they turned off the tap of money.
true, but the last person talking about Generals and running of a country is ...a Turk!

Yeah but you know, they are doing this probably for the last time even against the will of their taxpayers. Probably for their own "European pride"! and trying to save the tainted image of EU by the situation in Greece.

Quote: German Chancellor Angela Merkel's party and its coalition allies have been defeated in regional elections in North Rhine-Westphalia, projections suggest.

If confirmed, this would see Mrs Merkel's national coalition lose its slim majority in the upper house of parliament, the Bundesrat.

The campaign has been overshadowed by the government's decision to contribute to a huge rescue package for Greece.

Well the Germans have spoken. And so they should.

How about Greeks give for a change, rather than recieve all the time.

Couldnt agree more. I will be the first one to give our judicical system and policing to the Germans, our resources management to the French, nothing to the English and nothing to the Americans.

Exactly, you got that and more back. After everything that Greece has undeservedly received and criminally snatched, you are in no position to ask for anything.

Did you allow for compensation the Germans gave in 1960?
Did you allow for gold sales by the Office of the Economic Deputy in Greece during the war? Why were they selling to the Nazis anyway?
Did you take into account the following observation:
Quote:

I note the following point from the British archives:
http://www.fco.gov.uk/resources/en/p..._pdf_nazigold1
Quote:
No preliminary distribution was made to Greece because the amount of the Greek claim was very small.

The Second and Quasi-final Distribution of Gold
Following the finalisation of the Commission’s adjudications, a second,
quasi-final distribution of gold took place. Between 1958 and 1982, a total of about 58,016 kg (worth about US$ 720.5 m at current prices) was distributed to Austria, Belgium, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Yugoslavia, the Netherlands, Poland and Czechoslovakia.

Do you think that if Greece genuinely had a claim on the mysterious gold reserves they would have said this:

Is that an official request? If I was Germany, I would say "thanks" in order to avoid a protracted legal dispute. In distinct contrast, the French are still demanding their gold to be returned and will not settle for a "thank you".

I note Greece is a member of the Nazi gold compensation scheme with a commitment to return all or some of the stolen funds from the Jews. Why would it be committed to returning this money if the Germans stole all of it?

To be honest, either you have now had an education or else you are a victim of your "training" in Greece. Why don't you look into your facts before sounding like a Greek politician?

Keep making stupid demands like this though. It might get pity from someone, somewhere .... somehow. But deep down Greece knows it has milked the cash-cow WAY too much and now it is time to feel some pain. It will be good for Greece.
