I have been thinking about this for a while and I just wanted to know what others thought. I have noticed that there have been a large number of ancient pre-Christian names surviving among modern Macedonians. Here is a short and brief list:
Aleksandar -Александар = Alexander, very common Macedonian name
Filip - Филип = Philip, also very common
Sokrat - Сократ = Socrates, not that common, most famous Macedonians with this name is:
1. Sokrat Lafazanovski (born 1939) - Macedonian artist
2. Sokrat Markilov (1921 - 1993) Macedonian activist for "OMO Ilinden"
3. Sokrat Mojsov (born 1942) Macedonian footballer, has played for FC Vardar
Ipokrat - Ипократ - Hippocrates - also rare, most famous Macedonian with this name is Ipokrat Razigorov (1900 - 1927), a revolutionary in Ivan Mihailov's VMRO
Leonid - Леонид - Leonidas - example is Leonid Jankov (1878 - 1905) famous Macedonian revolutionary from VMRO
Evridika - Евридика - Eurydice (grandmother of Alexander the Great), Evridika Robeva (1865-1914) was a daughter of Dr. Konstantine Robev, owner of the famous Robev family house in Ohrid
Aristotel - Аристотел - Aristotle, example Dr. Aristotel Tentov
