A very interesting post regarding the Greek mindset and propaganda towards the Macedonian nation.

Default Greek propaganda

It would be helpful to some of us if someone can give us specific examples of where the above Greek history of Macedonia is wrong or distorted and where it differs from the Macedonian view of its history.

Thanks

Welcome Angliski, sure but going thru it all will take some time. Is there some part that you are more interested in? So it would be easier to dissect.

ok lets look at the greeks after the balkan wars.Macedonia was occupied militarily by the greek army. But they say that they liberated the lands from the ottomans. If that's the case how did they liberate it they simply took over & called it the occupied lands. So it was a land grab.It tried to hide the fact that there were living macedonians which was a majority population.Population exchanges the bringing ofprosfeges from turkey. The change of toponym names to greek. The changing of macedonian names,Macedonian forbidden to be spoken.Forced assimilations of macedonians.

Thanks guys. I know the Greeks grabbed their part of Macedonia from the Turks. I think they only beat the Bulgarian army into Solun by an hour or so, or it would today be a part of Bulgaria. But I'm confused because some posters above call Macedonia before WWI "a country" and the Greeks above call it "a region". Was Macedonia before WWI a country? I know that Greece was never a country before the 19th century creation of the modern state. If Macedonia was a country and not a region inhabited by many different people, when did it become a country? I guess it comes down to what is a " Macedonian"? Can a Greek in Greek Macedonia be a Macedonian and can a Bulgarian in Bulgarian Macedonia be a Macedonian, too? Or is it a designation for only a certain culture of people that excludes everyone else no matter what they feel about their identity?

thanks

Zdravo Angliski,

That's a good question, what do you think a Macedonian is?, and what do you believe the term should mean?

where did all the "greeks" in Macedonia go? why did they have to cleanse the area and bring in anatolians and force immigration on people etc? i cant find any mass genocide of the original greek macedonians anywhere lol...the terms greek and bulgarian make no sense in modern world either they are just political terms constructed by modern state and church
