Yes it should consider joining under the right terms.
Issues that need to be addressed are Macedonia's sovereignty and debt as well as governance in the first instance.

If you choose yes you MUST back it up with a guarantee Macedonia will benefit. If, you find the need to use a word like 'if' you should be voting NO 100%.

I don't know about Canada, but back in the day, sometimes in school some of the Aussie kids (weren't we All Aussie kids) known as "Skipps" would be racially discriminatory towards some of the migrant kids, the "Wogs", and sometimes a fight might break-out, and sometimes no matter how much you think the argument was over something stupid and not worth a fight (not that I have ever wanted to fight, anyway) you find yourself in the middle of people swinging around you (which you didn't even start or partake in the argument) and you have no choice - 'in for a penny, in for a pound' - the merits of the situation don't even come into it.

You know Makedonsk_Kafana, there was this really great show by Larry David (the creator of "Seinfeld") called "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (IMBD http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0264235/) which is really funny.

Having been there, done that, ie being the subject of a poll (I think you might have some experience there, too), with the miniscule response you are likely to get on the MTO (going by past experiences) do you really think anyone (in politics or otherwise) is going to take any notice of 0 'Yes' votes and 20-30 max 'No' votes?

Macedonia Sends Protest Letter to Athens over Ambassador Treatment

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) presented Greek Ambassador Alexandra Papadopoulou Wednesday with a protest note over the state's treatment of Macedonian diplomats in Greece.

The note follows yesterday's information that Macedonian General Consul in Solun, Tomislav Dimitrovski was stopped by the Greek police for an alleged traffic misdemeanor.

In a written statement following the MoFA meeting, Ambassador Papadopoulou says Dimitrovski violated several Greek traffic laws.

"The police let him go after a routine check-up. Dimitrovski did not even leave the car. I believe these incidents should not be given political connotation and used for creation of political tensions. Greece works towards good relations between the two countries at all levels", says Papadopulou.

Media reported that the incident occurred on a Solun highway, when Dimitrovski passed through a yellow traffic light, as claimed by the Greek police. The Macedonian diplomatic vehicle was then chased by police cars and motorbikes. When stopped, the consul was surrounded by armed policemen who proceeded to arrest him, which is a violation of the Vienna convention in regards to diplomats in a foreign country. Following 45 minutes of tense atmosphere, Dimitrovski managed to contact a Greek MoFA official, who intervened. The police fined Dimitrovski and afterwards let him go.
The fine itself is a violation as diplomats in a foreign country enjoy immunity, unless you are a Macedonian diplomat in Greece.

TLWR & RTG i wouldn't at all be surprised if that was true, i had a quarrel with border officials & undercovers myself (well lets say i chose to get involved), after they harassed my taxi driver. according to my taxi driver they get treated like that all the time and usually take the abuse without any response, so he was shocked when he saw me give it to these pricks !
