Vancho Mihajlov behind the murder of Todor Aleksandrov - Sources

German document-telegram from Lt. Col. Von Harling sent to the German command on December 12, 1943 linking Mihajlov to the murder of Todor Aleksandrov.


1) Ivan Mihajlov, who is in Zagreb, in 1924, caused the murder of the Macedonian leader Todor Aleksandrov, which is attributed to him and which led to the division of VMRO. Then the leader of the group opposed to him was (Alexander) Protogerov, who was also liquidated by the Mikhailovists.

"When the news of his death was released on September 16, it was stated that he had been killed at "Yugoslav instigation." The fact that the principal beneficiary of Alexandrov's death was Ivan Mihailov would seem to cast some doubt on this allegation . For the next ten years, Mihailov excused much of his feuding in Bulgaria by declaring that he was "pursuing and punishing Alexandrov's murderers. But these feuds amounted to nothing less than a thorough purge of all those who believed in a federal solution for Macedonia, the communists included."

ANOTHER SOURCE LINKING VANCHO MIHAJLOV TO TODOR ALEKSANDROV'S MURDER

It became clear to the whole people that one of Todor Alexandrov's students, the irresponsible sadist - Ivan Mihajlov, in alliance with the other irresponsible (people), at the expense and in the interests of Tsar Boris - killed due to sadism his teacher Todor Alexandrov and staged the slaughter in Gorna Dzumaya and also in other towns and villages, according to a plan drawn up by the Ministry of War.

MIHAJLOV ORDERED MURDER OF ALEXANDROV AND HUNDREDS OF HIS SUPPORTERS.

"After Alexandrov and some hundreds of his supporters had been murdered by order of Mihalloff— the present leader of VMRO — in 1924, the society dropped any pretence of being an Instrument for the liberation of Macedonia, and became a purely gangster organisation, Its members ready to sell themselves wherever there was a market for their services".

"By the same logic I can say: If you believe that Ivan Mihailov saved IMRO from the conspirators, killed Todor Alexandrov, and you whorship him for that, but as it turns out that there was never a conspiracy against Todor Alexandrov? Then the "Conspirators" were killed by Ivan Mihailov, who have never been publicly accused and have never been arrested, will not make Ivan Mihailov a hero, as you glorify him, but one ordinary bloodthirsty brother killer, as he really was!"

ANGEL UZUNOV (BROTHER OF HRISTO UZUNOV) BELIEVED MIHAJLOV WAS BEHIND ALEKSANDROV'S MURDER.

"After learning about Alexandrov's murder, I assumed it was Mihajlov's work. Because, probably, he allied with the government which, fearing negotiations with the Bolsheviks, was looking for allies who would eliminate and remove VMRO from that path '. Perhaps Mihajlov, as a junior, saw himself as the most suitable, and also participated in the persecution of farmers. It is very likely that Tsankov knew that Alexandrov did not have a very good opinion of Mihajlov and that he called him "forgotten", accused him of spending money on the Organization and so on. All this, I suppose, probably made Mihajlov angry against him and that is why ..."
