To be noted is that Osman speaks Turkish, Modern Greek and "Makedonski"(ie Macedonian), all this in 1919, Tito is a very crafty man to brainwash a Turk into speaking Macedonian.

Or maybe Osman is a Muslim Greek......

Thanks Daskale. But remember the magazine was from 1919. Osman surely has been calling his third languge 'Macedonski' since he began to learn it and I am sure as a young child. So definitely way before 1919

There were obvious reasons to speak Turkish and Greek. One was the language of commerce, the other was the language of religion ... I won't say which is which.

But what reason would there have been to speak Macedonian?

Do you think the sound and phonetic transliteration of the Anglicised word 'Macedonski' is actually 'Makedonski'? I would say that if the author of the text was reading it out aloud, it would be 'Makedonski'.
