    CTP claims / Advice

Hi guys sorry i havent been logged in lately. I am going through a stressful time. I was involved in a car accident last month. I was rammed at the rear end of my car by person that was driving uninsured skyline turbo while i was slowing down. As i was merging into the right line i decided to slow down cause there were cars in the right lane , while this person decide to try to overtake me as i was breaking as result he had not time to avoid me and he smashed into me. My gf was in the car as passenger with me being the driver. The whole time this guy was behind me so i didn’t merge into his lane.

The doctor said i had soft tissue injury (whiplash) and at the moment i am paying for physio with my own money since this happened on my day off from work so i can’t claim work compo. Some of my friends are saying to get a lawyer and sue his CTP insurer but i am sacred his CTP insurer is going to dispute me and it might cost me more for the lawyers for what i might get. At the same time i can lodge the forms repsenting myself but again my concern is they are not going to take me serious and probably throw at me few hundred dollars for my trouble.

Does anyone had similar experiences?? Is anyone here a qualified lawyer that at least can give me a simple advice whether i have a case and what i should do? This accident happened over month ago and my neck and shoulder is still sore, and it interfere with the work i do. I been taking out sick leave and soon i am going to have to waste my annual leave if my condition doesn’t improve.

I am sorry for posting here about personal problems but i though this way is the best way to get independent opinions beside the one I got from my friends. Many thanks in advance..

I often pretend to be a lawyer. But in this case, I would suggest you go for some free consults with some ambulance chasers near you. Some get paid on successful outcomes. I reckon there will be $20K in it for you.

go to a good compensation lawyer ask the law society or look up the yellow pages,They wont charge its a no win no charge policy. You hould be able to claim your medical bills and out of pocket expenses. If you weren't at fault then you can clain the green slip insurance.
