My sister-in-law says that the sale of property documents need to be done by a Notary (kind of a lawyer) who will charge about 200 Euro's. The Notary will then send the documents off to the Tax Office which will determine how much tax needs to be paid based on the size of the property.

Other than that, there should not be any further costs, unless of course you need to oil the wheels a little.

I think that depends on the type of property.

I spoke to her again last night, an in Macedonian tradition, she added more information but confused the issue by doing so. She said there might be some other charges but she has no idea about them. Sorry mate, in the end I think this was just as vague as it was before I asked her.

But, that's Macedonia and a part of what you will have to deal with when doing anything there.
