I hope they do not support me, in fact I hope they oppose me. The more they push back against something good, the more they will be shown for what they are, a rotten bunch of traitors.

I dont think enough philanthropy goes on in Macedonia, which is sad given how many wealthy and successful Macedonians their are in the diaspora and how little it takes in many cases to make a big difference.

Unfortunately most of the Macedonians here are obsessed with showing off their new BMW instead of doing something positive and beneficial for all Macedonians.

How is it in Australia? Are the Macedonians there very materialistic, gaudy, and show offy?

Yeah I think a lot of them are, it certainly seemed that way growing up but to be fair I was a fair bit younger than. Not just the macos, all balkan kids seemed stuck up, arrogant and thought they were the shit. Bosnian kids turned up in year 11 & 12 even they were fucked in the head though there was a few that were quiet, I think were involved in the fighting, we're talking 95-96 though.

My experience with macos here and back in maco is interesting. What I've noticed is that a lot of the macos i've come across in australia say oh i'm from bitola or prilep or ohrid or skopje but what i think is per'haps they were froma celo of one of those cities. They seem to act like the sejlaci in maco i came across or heard stories about. Most of the people i met in stip and radovis, where i spend most of my time came across as the most normal for better want of words, people. Doing what they can to get ahead, not necessarily happy with the govt. initiatives but certainy not sitting around all day doing nothing.

Some family lost out big time when maco went independant, jobs were lost, life changed a lot, desapir set in, i could see a fair amount of desapir. But most of my younger cousins or wife cousins all seemed like go out and get it kind of people, most of them work and do what they can to get ahead.

It seemed to me like things are moving forward standard wise in maco just perhaps not fast enough for some. My 2c.

the materialistic psyche is everywhere.Of course you have the pecalbari. But your health is more important.I didn't mean that it would be a bed of roses with the rom govt.I was thinking of some light at the end of a tunnel.Which means we are on our own if we are to resurrect the macedonian spirit once again. If the ordinar person can't see beyond the trees
what hope is there.?But that's not to say we should give up.What we need is a good old revolution of the mind people should wake up & reclaim their country.

I would tend to agree. Australia is a very fast growing and changing nation, the desire to develop is high, the opportunity to make good money is before us. However it is still a choice, some choose to rent some choose to buy. The thing is we have a choice.

Me pesoanlly i'm getting over being in debt over my eyeballs with investments. I've floated the idea to wife about selling up and moving to Radovis, the family/community factor makes my life in Australia seem pretty ordinary sometimes. Perhaps just a case of the grass is greener.

I hate people like that. I leave my Porsche at home and drive my BMW to my beach house instead.
