    Macedonians Movies

Why not a thread where you can find macedonian movies to download?
I begin with "Before the Rain"(1994) of Milcho Manchevski.

Here's the trailer : Пред Дождот / Before the Rain - YouTube

The IMDb page on the film : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110882/.

For me, this film is a masterpiece and the soundtrack is just fabulous, i listen to "Anastasia - Time Never Dies" almost every day.

Here is the torrent : http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/68134...ain_%281994%29. You will need to use a BitTorrent client to download the movie, i use personally Torrent : http://www.utorrent.com/intl/returni...urning-visitor.

    Enjoy !

Has anyone noticed that most Macedonian movies lately are very heavy in content? They're always dealing with heavy and complex emotions, intertwined in history and changing times.

I would really like to see a more light hearted movie coming out of Macedonia, perhaps taking us through a story that more (international) people relate to. My impression of Macedonian film makers is that they think telling depressing stories is somehow more realistic and artistic than something positive, light hearted or funny. I think there's value in both and i'd like to see Macedonian film broadening in that regard.

Bal-can-can was pretty funny, but also quite heavy at the same time.

I agree Coolski, they could make a gut-busting movie about "Lost Albanians", the story of confused individuals wandering Macedonia looking for their homeland! They could go to town on that one and raise a few belly laughs........maybe even a little patriotism as well.

              What an understatement!
I have this overwhelming urge to slit my wrists after most of the recent ones I have seen.

Any info on the new Macedonian movie coming out "The third half time"? Apparently it has been nominated for an academy award. Should be a cracker!

I respect Milcho Manchevski and his efforts to try put Macedonia on the map and all of that, but most of his movies suck.

I think Before the Rain is a little bit over rated, and i dont know, but the whole macedonian falling in love with a shiptar seems a bit cliche and forced. The soundtrack is amazing though.

His best movie was Dust, but i only liked the parts that were flashbacks to ottoman times. The rest of the movie was garbage.

I would love to see a movie about VMRO and how they stood up to the ottomans.

Or even a good comedy would be great. I hate to compare macedonians with the serbs, but the serbs are great at mixing politics/history with comedy. Like the movie "Underground"

I'd like to see new directors pop up. Milcho does a good job and he has his own style. It'd be nice to see some other directors pop up and mix it up a little. It'd be refreshing to watch a movie that doesn't involve major historical events.

Sometimes putting Macedonian film on the map means making a movie with a plot that can be understood across different regions or continents. We don't always have to leave a movie sad and depressed, or overwhelmed by the intense historical times/events that were taking place.

We have companies like fx3x in Skopje that are working on major hollywood movies with brilliant special effects, as long as a rich heritage of film making.

I'm just hanging to see something different. As interesting as it is, there's more to Macedonia than the turn of the century.
