100 Year Anniversary of the first Balkan War

Today is the 100th anniversary of the start of the first Balkan War. Today commemorates one of the greatest atrocities to the Macedonian People. 100 years ago today Macedonia was divided illegally. The division led to the exile and ethnic cleansing of the Macedonian people. Give a second today to commemorate all those who suffered and lost their lives.

They were pretty damn tough back 100 years ago!

I can imagine a similar line-up nowadays in Macedonia, in front of McDonalds.

Whenever I am going though a hard time I think of the people like in that photo and they always give me inspiration !! They will never be forgotten.

Yep, same here. No matter how hard our own lives get, you just have to look back to pictures like this and realise how grateful we should be with what we have.

Many paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend their rights and freedom, something we often take for granted these days.

I can imagine a similar line-up nowadays in Macedonia, in front of McDonalds.

The line up today would be to demand a name change so they can all get free smartphones from that glorious land of milk and honey (EU), which is there to meet their every need...times are really tough these days.

Every person in that photo knew what freedom mean't and why it was so important. If only there were than many Macedonians in Macedonia today who understood the same.

it's very sad freedom doesn't have the same meaning it did 100 years ago.People don't beleive in fighting for freedom from oppression.The oppressor will become a star or a monument will be errected.Yeah tom the'll want their smartphones first & then head off to maccaes for some angus beef.
