    NINEMSN - National animal of Macedonia?

    The Homepage of NINEMSN has a Daily quiz, today there was a question on Macedonia
    (Half way down to the right )

    Q: National animal of Macedonia?

    When you click on it, the answer comes up as the Lynx..?

    The correct answer is the LION - (in Macedonian heraldry),
    Šarplaninec, Lynx and Ohrid Trout are also the national animals of Macedonia..

    But my understanding NINEMSM answer is only partly correct..?


    Any thoughts on this...?
    The Macedonians originates it, the Bulgarians imitate it and the Greeks exploit it!

    I think it is the lynx - a certain breed of lynx that is only found in Macedonia. Its not mean't to be a national 'symbol', but rather an animal unique to or prevelant in the country.
