Enjoying sunny (but cold) Japan at the moment. The guitar culture is totally alive here. They absolutely love them. It feels like 1990 here .... (aside from the brilliant high-tech toilets).
Ochanomizu in Tokyo is the Mecca for all guitarists. I have never seen so many guitar shops in one small area anywhere else in the world.
The Japanese guitars are amazing quality. Some are actually much cheaper in Australia than they are here in Japan. The locals know how good they really are, whereas the rest of the world still thinks they are just copying the US guitars and price them unfavourably.
A great place to visit all round. I can see how their culture has facilitated their development.
