Well, "Staretz" was a native Russian on Sveta Gora (GR: Mount Athos):

But what interested me is that I do not believe "Staretz / Cтарец" even works as a word in Russian. Not surprisingly, it is only correct in Macedonian (& Bulgarian).

I just wonder how much Macedonian heritage was destroyed in Sveta Gora during the Greek brainwashing experiments.
