His wife is from Macedonia. Here's the interview and thank you for allowing me to post it. Shame, she is a really sweet old lady...

I think his wife just threw away that idea from the interview above. She is just repeating what he has been saying all along.

Ovaj Mladen SRBINovski e jak bulgarophil.

To be honest, I don't even know who that Mladen Sarbinovski is, or what his story is...I've seen his face few times here and there, but that's all. He hosts that show once a month.

Wow... Mladen really keeps dragging the words out of her mouth. "Makedonshtinata, Makedonshtinata".... He couldn't be any more biased. :/

Here's a rather comical, yet realistic, view on Greece and the EU. The old dude on the right is prof. Vuchkov, who's famous for his eccentric character...I think you'll enjoy it.

The word "Bulgarofil" was created by the Serbs in former Yugoslavia to wrongfully describe people who think of themselves as Bulgarian. Because at that time you couldn't have Bulgarians in Macedonia, so let's just call them "Bulgarofils" and "traitors" like they did with Venko Markovski and so many others. To be honest, I'm surprised you still use such an outdated terminology. RoM is the only country in the word where that word exist. You'd think that 20+ years of democracy would remove any of the old Yogo influence...

Well, not really... The word "Bulgarofil" (or as I know it "Bugarofil") is mostly used for people who have been born in Macedonia and have Macedonian citizenship, but feel like Bulgarians (or love Bulgaria).

Bugaro (Bulgarian) + Phillos (Love for) = Bugarolover

Same goes for people who have sympathies for Serbia (Srboman, Srbofil), or Greece (Grkofil), or even Germany (Germanofil), or England (Anglofil), etc. It's not outdated terminology, it's used everywhere - to show that one feels something special for a country which he doesn't really belong to.

It only means that this person supports the political views of another nation, and has deep cultural and emotion ties with it. But it has nothing to do with people who consider themselves Serbian, Greek, German or Bulgarian. So you can't call a Macedonian who thinks of himself as a Bulgarian a "Bulgarofil".

Hey dipshit, after 20+ years of 'democracy' in bulgaria, a Macedonian still can't declare his identity in freedom...you wouldn't know democracy if it dragged you by the ring in your nose you donkey...

In Bulgaria we have plenty of Russofils, but none of them consider themselves Russian. Big difference.

Exactly. This is why the term is flawed. Those people don't consider themselves Bulgarolovers - they consider themselves Bulgarian by origin. Like this Mladenov guy - he declares himself of Bulgarian origin...So calling him Bulgarofil is wrong in my opinion, but you're free to think otherwise of course...
