I am a bit dubious about getting software from organisations/sites that gather different software from different sources (other than cnet dowload ect.) as I once had a warning from my virus checker from one such site - ie I try to find the source of the software instead eg OpenOffice is available from www.openoffice.org

FileHippo uses the same files from the original sites. And how can you trust your anti-virus? it could be a false detection. That's another reason I don't have anti-viruses, they are annoying and delete keygens and cracks even if they aren't infected.

perhaps we can have an explanation of all the different operating systems that are available & perhaps their performance as well.
Video players they don't play the movies because you have to have the right codec direct show filters etc kv files.You can convert the files to the right format.Some software like xvid with div explayers don't work also you got trojans/viruses that want to be installed in the toolbars.Ms has software to deal with the different things.

You got cnet software evaluation.zdnet software,download.com,tucows,Then there are sites that if you have the software they have keygens & serial nos.Their is also cracks.if you have the trialware version you can have the crack that will make it operate,Then there are sites called hacks & cracks where they have downable full version software.You can donate if you want.It's amazing what's out there but one thing you have to be carefull of viruses/trojans from places like warez & limewire,you even got a place like e-mule,limewire may have viruses most of the time.Then you got frostwire i have been assured is much safer than limewire.Then you got pirate bay another download site virtually anything goes.You could get viruses.I found helpfull to have a seperate partion or seperate harddrive for just downloads to avoid getting zapped by viruses/trojans etc.You have to allways be carefull of copyright as if they find out you are taking software without payng they'll be after you.

Are you referring to SpyBot Search and Destroy?
I don't know of a Mac version, but then again, I only use PC. I have read articles on anti-virus stuff and the general consensus from the writers was that no program should be relied on by itself absolutely and if you cop a virus it is best to run 2 or more anti-virus programs just to be sure - SpyBot is definitely one on my list as I have had good experiences with it. I'm surprised if you have had any bad experiences with it.
